Does anyone else's boxer eat soap??

Victoria has taken to getting IN the shower and taking the bar of soap to chew on. She's afraid of the shower curtain but will push it aside to get at the soap!!

It's driving me CRAZY!!! I can't reallly change brands because my husband and son get itchy with most of the others we have tried... so...
any suggestions aside from only having soap in the shower when someone is showering?
She'll even get in the tub when the kids are in there to try and eat the soap!!

So, does anyone else's boxer do this?

LOL, that is funny, she must have great breath and clean teeth!! But seriously, my girl used to like to try and lick the soap - can't imagine why?? We taught her the leave it command so when she came in and she would eyeball the soap we would tell her leave it. Worked for us. Good luck.

Soap is on my list and has been for along time. Bailey will eat have of it (gulp it down when Im not home or not looking) and hide the OTHER half under the couch. I go to take a shower, cant find the soap... she is the first culprit! Ive found half bars under the couch along with some other toys she likes to bury under there. Im surprised when she burps she dont burp bubbles, like the cartoons back in the day.

Coco has never eaten soap, we have ours up on a shower caddy thing, she can't reach it. But...she does like to try and drink the soapy shower water...ewwww! She is forever coming into the bathroom and licking the runners on the tub where the shower doors close and sticking her head in the tub and trying to lick and drink. she naturally has to come in the bathroom when we shower or she sits outside the door and goes berserk. If any of us are in the tub you have to close the shower doors or she'll go after the bubbles. When I try to mousse my hair, she tries to lick that too. Whenever I fill the dishwasher, she wants to try and be the pre-wash cycle and I have to tell her no and keep her away when I'm putting the soap in as she tries to lick it up. I have no idea except it must smell really really good to them.

Not only does Boomer try to eat soap, he licks lotion off of my legs, too. The only thing he doesn't try to get to is fingernail polish remover, nail polish, or the peppermint foot lotion I put on. It's actually funny when I get that foot lotion out b/c he knows what it is and just politely turns his nose up like "WELL, I WAS going to help you out by licking all the lotion off, but, NEVERMIND!"

She is forever coming into the bathroom and licking the runners on the tub where the shower doors close and sticking her head in the tub and trying to lick and drink.

Shayna does this too. The whole time I'm in the bath there's the constant knocking of the shower doors where she's licking the outside of them. And she loves to eat soap. The best to her is Dial Vitamins. The bars that come in the clear box. And the soap is a brownish transparent color. I always have to put it up when she gets a bath. Micah doesnt eat it though.

Yes, Lael LOVES soap. Whoever is bathing, whether it is her bath or our bath, she's always got her nose in the suds eating away. Blech! :rolleyes: Our vet said that as long as she doesn't eat a whole bar of soap or a bottle of shampoo, licking the suds is okay.

Oh well.

Reno LOVES soap. He will do any thing to get to it. I purchased a soap holder that suctions on to the shower wall from Target. It helps some, the problem is Reno has a higher reach (on his hind legs) than my 9 year old daughter. He can't get the soap out, he'll just stand there all day licking that soap. All the soap on the counter tops have been switched to the liquid kind. Waiting for the day I find the liquid soap dispenser chewed up. Good Luck

bailey hasnt ever got so far as to eat any but he can sniff it out from a mile off!! as soon as you wash your hands hes licking them like mad and trying to get out of the shower is a nightmare! hes also right into the shower trying to munch up the remains of the bubbles when he gets half a chance. how wierd it must be another mad boxer thing!
