Okay everybody I just got back from picking up and then using my CHI straightener. All I can say is WOW!! Who would think it would make such a difference? I was skeptical, but always ready to try something new. I must say, my hair looks just wonderful! :) When I shake my head back and forth, my hair actually swings. It even sounds silky.Since we all straighten our hair, we all know what a magical feat that is! Okay, so I've purchased the CHI and the Dyson...what is BW going to get me to buy next?

Curls Are IN Again!

Ok, I'm like you guys - my hair is naturally curly & I straighten it everyday with a blow dryer & giant curling irons. When my mom went to have her hair dyed the other day the lady at the salon told her that curls are going to be the new "THING" for the summer & fall! Go figure...Slaves to fashion!

Curls are "supposedly" going to be in for the late summer/fall season. But, it's not natural curls... they are formed curls thus a curling iron or rollers will need to be used to achieve this loose-curled look....

CHI irons are by and large one of the better items that have been invented! I couldnt live or work without one. As far as the CHI products are concerned, I have used better. The iron came first, after it did so well the product line came out with the thought that once the CHI name was mainstream the products would sell based on that. If you use and like what you presently use I wouldn't buy the products because of the name. Any silicone based product applied to the hair in small amounts before blow drying and then any normal hairspray applied to the dry hair before straightening will work just fine. Follow the straightening up with yet more (miniscule amount) of the silicone product will assure that you dont get flyaways or that it will re-curl up if you have heavy humidity. Actually, if you try and use a regular curling iron on CHI straightened hair it wont work....have to actually reshampoo the hair.

i live in japan, so i get the japanese straightening done once a year, and i love it. i only have to pay about 125.00. i am moving back to the US in 3 weeks( and getting 2 boxer babies shortly after!). i don't know what i am gonna do then!! i have heard people can pay around 500.00 for this. i guess i will just have to start blowdrying it straight and get a straightening iron.!

I had the CHI system done & it was awesome. I have (or had) naturally kinky curly hair & it would frizz in the least bit of humidity...with CHI you don't have to worry about the humidity...I did still have to blow dry it & used a flat iron to smooth it out but it would last for 3 days if I wanted it to, it also holds curling iron curls real good. It's like getting your hair colored...ie. you just get the roots done every 6-12 mths or so. I've had mine done 2x's in the past 2 years & now I can't get my hair to go naturally curly again so beware!!
It took nearly 5 hours to do my hair because I have so much and thankfully I live in a po-dunk town with an awesome stylist who only charged me $150 including full sized shampoo, conditioner, & the silk!!! I DO NOT like the shampoo & the conditioner isn't the greatest either. The silk is awesome...it leaves your hair feeling like, well, silk. You just put it on before &/or after blow drying.
CHI straightening doesn't leave your hair dry & brittle either. If you have a stylist that knows what their doing & you use the right products you won't have any problems. I do have major breakage from highlighting/coloring my hair blonde & using the dryer & iron & have found the new Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner Super Strong (I think) to be great!!

Yeah not our frizzy natural curls that one is big, and one is straight , and the other one is non exsistant. My hair stylist back in Pa used the CHI on me and it worked great but I thought it was just b/c she was doing it, not the CHI itself. I think I am also gonna buy one. I live in South Florida, so let's begin to talk humidity???????????? lol

Tracey

PS I never heard of the Dyson beofre BW and after reading the posts I was convinced I am going to have to buy one............
