Do you let your boxer on...

The couch, the bed, chairs, everywhere? I wa sjust wondering how many people let them on the furniture and how many don't? I already made it very clear to my fiance that our animals WILL be on the couch chairs and in bed with us but thats how I grew up so thats what I am used to. But I know some peopel who are against animals on furniture. So what do you allow?

My boxer allows me on HIS couch, chair, and queen size bed!

My boys are allowed everywhere I am. I do keep the door to the guest room closed so they don't mess up the bed. I also keep the doors to the living room closed so they don't throw all the pillows off the couch, but if I am in the living room, they are allowed on the furniture.

ah yes, Gracie goes everywhere! I have started closing off the guest room so she doesn't mess up the bed/chair in there (a bit too late as she already tore the chair cushion up a bit!) but she has pretty much taken over the couches and bed! Originally we were not going to let her on the furniture (our last boxer wasn't allowed on the furniture but did sleep with us sometimes during storms or when sick, and on Sunday mornings!) but I'm a softy and I love snuggling with her--especially since my DH is out to sea right now! And since we have leather furniture this time around, its easier to wipe the dog hair and muddy pawprints off! I think when he gets back we may have an issue with the bed...but hopefully Gracie will share with him! LOL

Chances are if you are not with them every minute, they will be in those places anyway, so we gave up. We don't allow the boys to rough house on the couch or bed, but they can be there.

With three it's hard finding a place for the humans sometimes!

Yes, all three of ours are allowed on the furniture. Our bed though is a water bed and too high for them to get up there by themselves and they don't really show any interest in being in the bed. They love being UNDER the bed. The bed has drawers and cabinets on the sides where we keep blankets. At any given time, you can open up a cabinet door and find a little face looking at you, . Luckily, there are three separate doors, one on each side and at the foot so they all have their own space.

chloe and maxi can sleep or relax anyplace they choose. we were both brought up in homes like that so its only second nature to us.

He has his own sofa by the window, he doesnt really come onto our sofa I guess coz there is not much room!

He lies on our bed too, but will get off at night between 10-11pm to get into his bean bag.

He cant understand when he goes round his nan's why he cant go on her sofa!

Caesar is allowed everywhere. I'm not sure that I made exactly the right decision by doing that but oh well I made my bed and now he's laying in it!
I think that someday (hopefully far far away) when C is gone and we get another one (or two) they will be allowed everywhere but our bed. There just isn't enough room. I'm always amazed when I read on here that people have 2 or 3 in bed with them and a hubby or wife.
