Last year I bought Annabelle a raised food dish. I heard it is better for their necks and backs since they don't have to bend so far to get the food. It has been great for us because she doesn't spill the food and water all over the ground now. When guests come over, they always have something to say about our bowl. What kind of food dishes does everyone else have?

Breezy has a raised dish and slobbers all over the wall and the floor! Maybe it's too high?

Yuck!

good golly! my two have raised food dishes and Yikes, what a mess they make. Dottie licks the food right out of the bowl. It ends up all crusty on the stove and floor. I have to clean up after them after each meal or it is glued to the floor forever! However, I heard it helps prevent Bloat, so that's why I got them!

I was thinking about asking hubby to build a version of the raised dishes (wooden framed) that you see in the catalogs. wouldn't be so hard or expensive. BUT, Junior loves to push his food bowl around, down the hall, in the living room around the den. I have even found it in the bathroom!
I can see him knocking the whole thing over!

We use a wooden shoe shelf for Coleman's dishes. You can get them anywhere...Ikea, Home Depot, etc. We had read about them helping his posture so he doesn't have to bend down to eat. The biggest advantage to this, that we find, is that he no longer gets hiccups as much as he used to. We keep it right beside the dinner table, so when we eat, Coleman eats. Seems to work really well!

I bought a nice raised set at Walmart-I think it was $14-works great-I did have to change the bowls-it came with plastic ones but I found some to fit inside the holes.

Don't have raised bowls, actually just found out there was such a thing about a week ago. I don't know if they are for Eddie or not. Eddie makes quite a mess, all around the bowl, I try to put the bowl away from the wall. He spends just as much time licking and cleaning up around the bowl on the floor as he does eating the food. I'll read on to the next posts and think about it:)
Oh and also Eddie likes to lay down to eat sometimes:p
