Do you get angry when people say your Boxer drools?

Well, I found out that I do! This past weekend my daughter had a new friend over. My husband also had his 3 brother in laws over for a ski weekend. All they kept talking about was how much Joe drools etc. Okay, he gets cute matching spit bubbles when he smells something good...but that's not drool. The Terrier we had growing up would drool so much that we would step in it and go sliding half way across the kitchen floor! I just had to keep defending my boy all weekend long. So it made me wonder if other people laugh this stuff off or take it personally like me?

im not sure if i get offended well i guess maybe i do. When people say she drool i reply with "no she doesnt" but not angrily or anything just more annoyed

Maybe not so much angry (at least not right away) but irritated and annoyed.

Oh, I get a little "hurt" inside when someone is criticizing my girl but usually don't let it rear it's ugly head. I normally just reply with something such as "She is just all boxer, that is part of it" when someones bugs about something like that. Especially when it is something that is natural to the breed. I might even respond cute & calm with "well, you would probably drool too if you had those cute big old lips hanging down like her" and then give her a big smooch right on the mouth and watch them gross out while I smile happily and walk on. I'm kind of onary like that.

I've heard it about my boy over the years. I don't think I get upset, but I don't take it quietly either. Always a sarcastic remark to follow!
"Drool? You haven't seen drool yet! Wait until he's done of his toilet cocktail!!!!"

OMG Diane, that's just what I did. I took his beautiful black mush in my hands and kissed him right square on his little black lips. I also guess when I said angry I used too strong of a word. It's more like annoyed and hurt!

I guess I'm luck because Bailey doesn't drool...at least not yet. But if she did and someone said something I don't think I'd care, just another reason I would love my dog.

I just laugh. I try to ward off any nasty remarks by telling Ronin to "stop sliming people" right in front of the one who got "hit" People like that just amaze me. I mean seriously, don't go to a Bark Park if you don't want to be around dogs! Ronin doesn't drool anyway - but he does "froth" when he get's tired and I just have to laugh. Gotta love a Boxer :D

No. When they ask how do I cope with it? My answer, with paper towels~plenty of them too! We have 3 very drooly boxers.

I don't get angry but I get very annoyed when the comment is made is a sarcastic and snobby tone! Little story here of a friends new gf. They came over to introduce her to us and of course, Xena was ready to be loved by this new guest. Xena leans into gf's black pants, leaving a beautiful, frothy string of slime down the pant leg! Now the gf begins to flap her hands in front of her, almost hyperventilating and says "EWWWW...you will clean that off me now...yes?"...and I'm like.."ya..ok..sure" (at this point I make a mental note to myself to convince friend that she is no good for him), and I proceed to wipe the slime off with my hand then wipe my hands on my pants. Normally I would use a paper towel, but now I don't like her and I want her to leave! She became soooo uncomfortable and watched my hands the whole time, worried I might touch her. So...of course I do. I patted her on the back as they were leaving and said it had been a pleasure to meet her. She dipped down and away from my touch so fast she almost fell out the door! It was priceless!! Thankfully, my friend is a dog person and that was the only date he took the snob on!! Ahhhh...ce la vie!! :D
