I am so glad your baby is feeling somewhat better.
IMO, don't "read" too much into what information you find online. I personally take the advice given here and apply it.
No one here has steered me wrong. I know you're very worried about your pup. You have every right to be. But these are people who are very knowledgeable and wouldn't steer you wrong. Some have been where you are. They know what they are talking about.
I'm not bashing you, please don't get upset with me.
As for diet, I would highly recommend raw or home cooking. Second would be a high quality kibble. IMO Wellness is the best you can get. Why not try it and just add a bit more protein? As for mites thriving on carbs, maybe they do. But if you try to get all carbs out of the diet, that would mean that even "grass munching" would be out. You'd have to watch her like a hawk.
I know you only want what's best for your pup, but you're worrying way too much. She is getting better, so just keep doing what you're doing. Just add in a bit more kibble. She needs the nutrition, and keep up with the supplements. You may be surprised.
Read the raw and home cooking forums, they are awesome.
Keep up the great work. I'm glad she's feeling better :)

No, I agree completely. I get better information over all on this board than anywhere else including my vet and am happy to get as much feedback as possible. This board was the reason I was really against getting the dip the first time, but when a vet tells you it's non-toxic and my wife listened to him, it was kind of hard to tell him I want to go online and double check. I'm taking her in a few hours and going to just get the shots.

I'm going to start just giving her the wellness kibble and adding just a tiny bit of chicken to it, but not over doing it. (By the way I don't think grass has carbs or it's so minimal like lettuce) :)

Hopefully I see more and more progress. It seems her skin is turning black, which I'm not sure if that should be a concern. A few days ago I thought she was getting much much better and she is a hundred times better than a week ago, but I noticed some bumps yesterday that I didn't see before.

What is the lowest time that anybody has seen mange disappear? I was reading anything lower than 5 weeks is not common

I have no idea about the lowest amount of time, it just depends on treatment and probably building up the immune system a bit. As I stated, Roxy as really bad, and we did the dips. It took about 4 to 5 months to get it completely healed up. She itched so badly, I felt sorry for her. The vets told me that was from the mites dying on her skin, which caused her to itch. Don't know if that's true or not, but I gave her Benedryl to help, which it did. The dips are very hard on their skin, and system as a whole. It did work for her thank goodness, but it took a while. Just be patient, you'll get there. :)

Oh yeah I know there was a girl in the rescue I foster for occasionally that seemed like she had it forever the poor thing. She was really bad, but she recovered with lots of time and effort, but I know it was months.

You also may want to locate a Boxer rescue (a good one) in your area, and see if they have any advice for you. Mange is something most rescues are extremely familiar with and since they have limited funding they find what works but is minimal out of pocket and usually try to go the less toxic route as well. Couldn't hurt IMO and then you have someone there as a second opinion as well.

I noticed today that where ever I put nu-stock that it seemed to kill any type of dump or turn it into some green/yellow crust if I didn't wash her well, which seems to make sense and add to her itching. I can imagine the dead skin that I'm seeing has to feel bad on her and increase her itching as you indicated.

That's great advise
I have one in my area, so I'll give them a call and at the sametime it will help me get to know the organization a little bit better. Maybe next time I get another one, I'll go through them :)

Just a quick update
I'm sure some of you are probably sick of reading my posts :)

I took her in today and the vet said not a single word about giving her a dip. He saw her and said she is doing a hundred times better and was impressed with how much she's been recovering. He gave her a shot and scheduled me for next week.
Maybe he wanted to give her both a shot and dip, because of how horrible she was. The first visit he only did the shot and the second one was when he wanted to do the dip and when I asked him he said she went from A to D and he said it looks life really bad, so maybe that's why he wanted to do the dip then.

Anyway I noticed some of her skin is turning black and I asked him about that and he said it would return. I'm not sure if it's because I'm over using nu-stock and not exactly as it's recommended on the label itself. The tube says put it on every 3 days, but I've been reading other boards that people say they have put it on every day, so I was doing that. Eitherway I'm going to start doing what's recommended.

Every morning
wellness kibble for puppies with chicken added
250 mg of vitamin C
1,000 mg of fish oil/omega 3
Antibiotic pill

Every night
wellness kibble for puppies with chicken added
Antibiotic pill

Every Wednesday give her the Ivomec shot, give her a bath and put nu-stock on her and do it every Sunday.

Hopefully within a few weeks or months I have better news.

I really want to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart, how much I really appreciate all the time you guys took to help me out and educate me. Roxy appreciates it also :)

Sounds like you are on the way to having a healthy pup again. I'm so glad she is getting better. I know what it's like to watch them suffer from the non stop itching. You could ask your vet about benedryl for the itching, mine recommended it, but ask yours and see what they say. The diet sounds good to me. Before long it will just be a memory. :)

Make sure if you're giving her fish oil that you're also supplementing with Vitamin E, very important.

I'm going to end up having bottles and bottles of vitamins and pills to give Roxy at the end. I decided to buy coscto fish oil gel caps, since it was very inexpensive.

This is the one I've been giving her
Costco - Kirkland Signatureâ„¢ Fish Oil Concentrate 400 Softgels

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's Tocopherol that's important that has vitamin E activity and I can see that these fish oil capsules have Tocopherol in their ingredients.
Tocopherol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was originally going to get Grizzly Salmon Oil All-Natural Dog Food Supplement, until a friend told me he's been giving his dogs the costco pills and he's seen great results from it.

My puppy will actually eat the pill without putting anything on it at all. She bites into it and likes the taste of fish oil, so she'll end up eating the entire pill, so it's been really easy to give it to her.
