I did the prego massage often... but hey, why not go for a pedicure... something that is just for you and gives you a break from the kids.

If you can bet a babysitter, check out a movie with a huge tub of popcorn
and m&m's.

As moms we forget to take care of ourselves quite often.

Hang in there.

First off are you going to a military doctor? Cause if so that would explain the no massage thing, cause even when my back was killing me and I had pinched nerves during my pregnancy I couldn't get the military inurance to pay for anything to correct it, except drugs. grrr.. but this is totally off the subject.
I have to agree that Daisy is picking up on your stress, when pups see thier owners a little out of control it really throws them for a loop. Similar to a child they will look to you to see your reaction in a stressful time. I'm sure you don't have much time to sit down and read a book but consider picking up "the culture clash" it's a great book and can maybe give you some insight into Daisy's behavior..
Maybe when DH gets back you can enroll Daisy in a training class and DH can stay home and watch the kids =) It might be fun and Daisy would learn your an Alpha too.

All the best of luck with everything. My DH is going to deploy soon for a year and I'll be juggling the single mom and boxer thing too, and I'm not looking forward to it. Hang in there he will be back soon.

Yes we go to a )(&%)#*&%) military doctor... I had to pay for my ultrasound to find out what the baby was... arg... I hate our insurance... My sister in law did the whole year thing with 2 kids... She actually got real use to it... Good luck... But Daisy was happy this morning when I woke up she was all kidney beans and trying to help me puke... She is WAY to helpful... I swatted at her to get out of my face while bending over and she thought I was boxing her... I tried pushing her while gagging and she thought this is fun... I wanted to string her up this morning... But I guess she was trying to show me the humor in it.. Which I still haven't seen yet...LOL :)

You might want to think about making sure the bathroom door is closed. Dogs don't always understand when we just need to be left alone. And if you are pushing away it does look like boxing to her. She probably just wants to help.

Ignoring works good around here. Or a stern voice. But consistency is the best tool you can use. If you don't want her thinking people food is ok, don't give it to her period. If you see her eyeballing something the baby has, I would point my finger and say NO very sternly and tell her to go lay down.

The absolute worst thing that can happen is for your husband to come home and suddenly DOMINATE the dog. Your husband has been gone a long time and will practically be a stranger to the dog. You did the right thing by telling him not to do that and your reasoning was perfect also. It isn't fair to have him come home and suddenly your pup is always going to listen to him and not you because he decided to pin him once and show him who was boss. However, if you want to show dominance.. it'd be a natural thing. It's in a dogs nature to show who's dominate in the pack, you may want to consider showing Daisy that YOU are the dominate one and not her.

Someone posted before that since you've been giving her alot of time outs that might be creating a problem also. They're like kids.. my kids like to create problems and I've always said bad press is always better than no press. My kids act up because it gets them attention bad or good. IMHO, I'd stop giving her time outs and start giving her more love.

I've been a young military mother and wife of a deployed spouse, I've been there done that. If you let it get to you all the time it will harm you in the end. Now this is my opinion and I am not in any way saying this is definitely you as I don't know you.. but it sounds to me like you are making mountains out of molehills. You are letting too many small things get to you and eventually those small things will force themselves into big things and everything will explode. Take a few deep breaths and remember, it could definitely be ALOT worse!

bad thing was I was puking outside... She thought I was playing until I finally told her go away Daisy... Then she sighed heavily and looked at me... But yes... Things are getting better. I think I am anxious, because the last month has been a breeze... But yes no more throwing up outside with Daisy! Not recommended with boxers at all... She tried to lick it up...

I have found that the only way to keep my dogs from begging and eating people food is to a) NOT allow them in the kitchen for ANY reason while I am cooking and b) crate them when we are eating. I don't think this was your daughter's fault at all. 3 year olds do not have the mental capacity to think, "I have to potty, but I better put up my food so Daisy won't eat it." Expecting a child to think about that is unreasonable. You could always designate an area for your dd to snack in and keep Daisy out of that area. I'm sure this is just a short term fix, but it might work for now!

As far as being pregnant-dogs do sense these things. My aunt had twins almost 2 years ago and when she was pregnant, her dog never left her side. My aunt was on bed rest for a while and Snowflake just sat with her. It is kind of gross when dogs eat puke--but you have to love her for caring!
