History of ear cropping
I live in Australia and it is illegal to cropp ears here, my newly acquired pup therefore has floppy ears as did my previous boxer. I believe cropped ears show off the beautiful boxer head our dogs have even more, whereas floppy ears gives a more puppy cute look.

However, cropping, which may only be done legally by a veterinarian and under full anesthesia, should be understood not as a fashion but as a measure for the dog's well being. Aside from the danger of wounds, dogs with hanging ears frequently suffer from wearison, painful ear infections."
