Super Boxer
Wilson has been on my mind so often these last couple of weeks. Next Monday marks the first anniversary of his death.
I can't let myself think about him too often. I still feel the bitterness of his death, how he was taken from us so early. And I remember so acutely what he felt like. Maybe it's because we touched and petted him so much; the memory of what he felt like--his fur, his big fleshy lips, even his paws stepping on my foot--the memory of it is so real I swear I can feel it. And yet he's not really there...I'm sorry, it's hard to describe, but the experience is both comforting and really painful at the same time.
I don't see how I will be able to open my heart to another dog after Lara goes. Losing them is so horrible. When I think about Wilson I feel like my heart turns to ashes.
