Cicada's are coming!!

In the news here yesterday they said that the Cicadas will be here a week earlier than predicted. So this is just a reminder to everyone that the doggies and kitties love to eat the Cicadas...they are like chicken nuggets to the pet world.. But they will make your pets sick, the hard shell is hard to digest and will make them vomit. So save some cleaning time and some belly aching time and keep a close eyes on your pets when the Cicadas arrive!!!! Make sure they are not snacking more than needed. Some suggestions would be appreciated on how to keep my Brandy from eating them when I take her out to potty. My big issue is making sure they do not fly into my hair...eeww I do not like bugs at all.. But keep your hats on because there will be millions of these critters flying around soon.

Cicadas! send them this way!! I love to listen to them, means warm weather is here! I've only seen a couple close up, you must have a lot where your from. Thanks for the advise!

In the cincinnati are where I'm from they come out every 17 years. There are millions flying around because of mating reasons. Then they go back into the ground for another 17 years it's a evil never ending cycle and when I say there are millions there are millions. Last time they came here I was 12, I was terrified of going outside, I hate bugs and if you go out you will get one or ten of them on you. I main thing I remember about it is when my mother drove me to my music lesson and I remember all of the bugs and guts on the windshield of the car, very hard to get off the car. Also when you have that many of them around the noise is insainly loud!!!! So if you want them you can have them.... LOL!!!

OMG don't want that many we have some here but you hear them only when its hot out and you rarely ever see one! Thats sounds awful!! How long does it last?

They will be here for a few weeks. They come out in Early to late May and then they will go away Mid to late June. Fun fun!!

OMG...I just heard this on the news this morning. I HATE bugs. If one landed on me I would need therapy for the next 5 years. I better start litterbox training my dogs now.......

Oh I am so dreading this. I hate bugs too and just picture them all over the place.. We live in MD which is supposed to be where most of them are UUGGGHHHH. Little Lucy will never go outside again all my potty training work!!! I was wondering the effect onthe dogs with the cicada's and if they would eat them and stuff. guess got to watch them.. uggghhh the cicads'a are coming!!!!
