2 hours is ok for me, but probably about the max. I heard the Sanford Park is great...fully fenced in and all. Does that location work for everyone as far as the travel timeframe? This will be great fun! I'll have to bring my mix too or she'll be pouting if she's left out! :( Let's keep throwing out the suggestions. I'll see if I can find out more about the Sanford park. It looks like a great place. What do you think? The only problem could be if it tends to get really busy...???! I'll ask around and see if anyone else has every been there and what it's like.

I couldn't look at the pics, but I'll take your word for it. Sanford is 2.5 hours from us, my hubby won't mind driving that far for our furbaby to play with other furbabies of his own breed, we drive 1 hour to the only dog park in our area!

Let's see who can make it and when? Responses?

I had a little trouble with the pics at the site too but if you wait a couple of minutes, they will load up and be fine. I originally thought it was broke and just walked away. When I came back, they were there.

Sanford is about 2 hours from me so we could make that drive. My brother lives in Orlando so we can always stop and see him anyway.

The park site says that dogs have to be at least 4 months old to come in there. My Charlie is only 13 weeks right now but will be 4 months old in January. Since we all want to wait until after the first of the year, he'll be old enough by then. Personally, I'd like to wait until February sometime. Is that good??

I had the same problem with the pics, but also found them "there" when I came back to my PC. I wouldn't mind to wait until February, but very early in the month (I'm not a patient girl and when I get something in my head, I just want to DO IT!). As it is, I have to wait A MONTH to get my Boxer boy from rescue due to his heartworm treatment and it's killing me! We are scheduled to pick him up on New Year's Eve day! So early Feb will give me a good chance to get to "know" him a little before taking him to the park. Maybe I can even check it out in person ahead of time to see what kind of set up they have since some of you will be coming quite a distance....surely they would have picnic areas or such.

I also have a friend that has a 13 wk baby that will be old enough by then as well.

Well, if maybe the first weekend in February sounds good to everyone, we'll try for that. How does that sound to everybody??

I know what you mean about having to wait - the time just goes by slower when you are expecting something!

Um, I'm not sure what the next step is! I guess we'll have to nail down a definite date and find out who all would like to come?

Yay!! This is exciting! Is Saturday (Feb 2?) or Sunday (Feb 3?) better for all? No idea which is more busy...probably close to the same I would guess. I guess once we get past all the holiday madness we should just reconvene and set a positive date and meeting time. Maybe we could all bring something or just bring our own lunches and have a picnic while the "kids" run their tails off. I hope they all get along. :confused:

Sounds good. Let's tentatively plan on the 1st weekend in February and wait for the holidays to be over to firm up the plans. Saturday is a better day for us, with church on Sunday it's harder for us to get away from the house early. But we can be flexible, so just lets see what everyone wants to do.
