Any Boxer families in Brevard?
We have a new addition and would love to create or join a Boxer organization, bash, gathering, etc. Kobe has become such an imprtant part of our lives in such a short time. We love him and the breed and this web site has really gotten us excited about meeting more Boxers and their families.
Does anyone know of anything or anyone in the Central Florida area?
Thank you,
Craig

Hi! I live in Kissimmee and am in the process of adopting a Boxer on New Year's Eve day from FBR. We can't wait!! I also have a friend with two Boxer pups...5 mos and 3 mos. She would probably be up for a bash as well. Let's keep in touch and get something together after the new year. I'd love to meet some other owners around the Central Florida area. I've been reading on the site for a few weeks now and am addicted. Can't wait to get our boy and start enjoying the life of a Boxer family!

We live just North of Jacksonville, how far away are you? I've been talking to others about a Bash in or near Daytona, is that far from you?

First: NO WAY!
Kelli, do you really have a Madison and a Hunter (and soon a Boxer boy)? I have a Madison (12) and a Hunter (3) and we have had our Boxer boy, Kobe, for a few weeks now. I had to read your post several times. Wow, that is wierd.

Wendy,
We are located in Central Florida, just south of the Space Center -about an hour S. of Daytona.

I love these dogs and I am willing to travel. I like the idea of trying to put something together for the early part of next year.

Stay in touch and share any ideas you may have.

Good grief! I have a Hunter too! He's 4 years old and named after his great grandfather.

Anyway, I live on the Treasure Coast about 2 1/2 hours south of Daytona but used to live in Deland so traveling there is not a problem. I'd like to get something for early next year as well!

Ok...way too many Hunters going on here. Maybe we need to get together just for the kids!!! lol Too many Hunters in one place. So, are yours as crazy as mine is? I don't know about this boy stuff...cute and sweet as the day is long, but CRAZY!!!??? God's way of making sure I always keep a sense of humor, I guess. And another Madison too? Very strange!!

Anyway, back to the furbabies...I am adopting Hershey from FLBR on New Year's Eve day. I can't wait. He looks so mean on the site but he is really so cute and sooo sweet. I would love to get together a couple weeks after that...just want to have a little time to get to know him a little before I throw him into something, you know?

We definitely need to keep in touch. Like I said, I have a friend with a couple of boxer pups too and she likes to socialize them too.

Let's do it!

How does everyone feel about Gainesville? A friend told me that there are parks there (at least 1) and I can't seem to find one in Daytona. There are parks in Sandford and Apopka, but I'm not familiar enough with Florida geography to know who close we all are to those small towns. I've checked on www.dogfriendly.com for places to go in Central Florida, if anyone else has any input, please respond! I can't wait to get together!

Sanford and Apopka are near Orlando which is about 2 hours north of me. Gainesville is about 5 hours north of me. :(

Florida definitely needs more dog friendly parks! My town has been talking for a year about opening one but every area that they suggested, the residents said no. Unfortunately, they've given up so guess we're not getting one.

Well, we must be able to find a place that has a dog park or a place where our babies can run that is more central to all of us. I'll keep looking. Is 2 hours a reasonable distance to drive for everyone?
