I don't notice the spelling as much as the 'tone' of the post, people in the USA seem to 'speak' in a different way to UK people, I think sometimes English people sound more abrupt than Americans, more to the point rather than chatty friendly if that makes sense!

Girlfriends, PUH-LEEZE!! I am from Northeast North Carolina and I live in a very, very rural (country) part of it. I promise that most of ya'll would NOT be able to understand me when I get mad. I have a BAD southern drawl and when I get angry, it gets really deep. Also, my friend who grew up in Ohio gets tickled at the way North "Cakalaki" people use the words "right" and "fixing". In other words, when I see a new boxer pup, I would say "Dang (well, actually the curse word version!) ya'll, that pup's right cute!" Or when it's time to go, "I'm fixin' to leave". We cut out some syllables and add in others!!! I love living in North Carolina! (which by the way is North Care-lina, you do NOT pronounce the "o" like North Care-o-Lina")

An also wen I tell peeple I got a Boxa dog,They crease wiv laffter coz I'm such a little bird, they cant fink why I want such a big dog!!!!

Yes, I saw that you live in Conn. It is a beautiful place. What area are you living in. My sister was in Norwich, then in Mystic. I can certainly understand you not getting a vacation this summer. I want to go South for a holiday but apart from my husband having a phobia about flying we don't want to leave our babies. I know there are lots of great kennels around but we don't want to go anywhere without having someone come house sit. That would be out best option. Anyway, if you decide to ever come this way you know you're always welcome here.

We used to go to New Haven to get the train to New York. Would that be right? My sister had a specialist in New York that she would visit. We also went there on occassions when she was well too. She lived very close to downtown Mystic. We used to walk from her house to downtown. I have many happy memories of there. Actually, I spent 6 weeks with my sister there in 2001 and returned home a week before 9/11. I would fly out of Boston airport too. I did return again in Oct. to be with my sister in her final days. I have not been to Conn. since.

That would be right..you could get the train into New York from the New Haven railroad station. MetroNorth is the train..you could have also gone into Bridgeport (another large city in CT). But chances are you went out of New Haven.

So sorry to hear of your loss of your sister. Its never fair when we loose someone..especially to that nasty C word. I know it doesn't compare to your loss but I lost my Blizzy to cancer. I also lost my dear gramma/gammy (we never called her grandma.. always gramma or gammy) to cancer also. Its a nasty nasty thing and I hope and pray that in my lifetime that they find a cure.
