I was just wondering how the situation is in Ohio right now concerning jobs? What is the cost of living like? I am interested more towards eastern Ohio near the border of PA. What are good areas to live in and areas to avoid? Are the apartments very pet friendly and what is the going rate for a two bdrm/2bath apt?

No we are not moving but I am just keeping my options open :p

Well, I live in the other corner of the state, and I can tell you that the job market around here isn't that great. It depends on where you live as to the cost of living, but I know that homes around here are going for $100,000 and up mostly. I live in Findlay, and it is a rapidly growing community. Growing too rapidly, IMO. Oh well, can't stop progress.

I'm in southern Ohio...almost on the border of Ohio & Kentucky. The job market is pretty good here. I don't know what you do, but I'm in accounting. I got a call from a headhunter a few weeks ago, matter of fact.

As for cost of living...two bedroom apartments around Cincinnati average about $650. One bedrooms aren't much cheaper... $500 and up.

Houses...depends on what part of town you live in. Where I live (northwestern Cincinnati) houses run about $110,000 and up for a three bedroom, 1.5 bath with fenced yard. Taxes are around $1400 a year.

Hope this helps you a little.

Yes Deb that helps alot :D Thanks so much! $635 for a two bedroom apt sounds awesome! Much cheaper than here :p

Do you know of any sites where I can look at job postings?

I live around Cinci too and Deb sounds about right. Jobs are decent, even though I hate mine, and housing isn't too bad.

YaY!!! thanks so much :D Cinc might be too far south for us though. We are looking more towards the Columbus area and east. I did some searching today and saw some townhomes for about $700, which is excellent :)
