Another beautiful climber is the Wisteria, in the deep mauve shade.
It takes a few years to establish but is a handsome specimen.

I do love Wisteria but it clings to our trees here in OK and smothers them and just kills them. You sorta have to plant it on an arbor or alone, or it will do that? is this right? It's really pretty hanging from trees and such....but I have trees I want to keep. Okay so the acid part produces blue blooms and pink too, so do I just feed it the muracid, like Jill says?

I try not to. They promised us it was going to warm up into the mid 20's and be sunny and no more snow till at least Wednesday.
WRONG! we got about 8" today and it just kept blowing around and making deep drifts. I've been shoveling on and off for at least 8 hrs today. Finally my neighbors came over and snowblowed me out. He also dug wood out of the woodpile and hauled it upstairs for me, so I could make a nice cozy fire. Aaah! I'm whooped.
The only other places I pay attention to are Florida(where my boyfriend is now on vacation and my Mom lives there) N.Carolina(Debbie Knowles) and ocassionally I check out our surrounding areas to see whats comin our way, even though they always say its not coming.

But enough about my bad luck, back to planting season!
