Mdowling- I OWN A BYB!!! not by choice, i got her from rescue. Yes i love her also, she is everything to me, but it is because of her that i want to get rid of byb's and i will do everything i possibly can to see them become a faded memory.
Subi showed me what can happen when you have a BYB, she has SEVERE hip displaysia, she is too small to get surgery so she will have to deal with it the best she can for the rest of her life. Otherwise we would have forked out the $7000.00 to have it fixed, not 7 hundred but 7 THOUSAND because she needs a TOTAL hip replacement.
This is why i HATE byb's. so before calling me snobbish you should read my posts. i am anything but snobbish, i am INFORMED!

YES! Would have been better for these puppies, their parents, and the breed as a whole!!

If all BYB's pups wouldn't sell and had to be euthenized then they'd stop breeding. You buy a pup from a BYB then you're giving them a reason to breed another litter...you're not helping the over population problem but contributing.:mad:

Let me understand this logic. You are mad because BYB contribute to overpopulation which leads to overcowding shelters, which lead to animals needing to be euthenized. Yet you are for taking all BYB litters and euthenizing all of the puppies. Which would amount to thousands of dogs. I am confused.

Hrm, dogs that "snap". I keep hearing this in this thread and dont understand. Considering there are no bad dogs just bad owner/trainers, I am wondering where this some dogs just snap idea comes from. Except for the rare dog with psychiatric issues, I cant think of reading where a dog has "snapped" on these boards out of the blue.

Can we please take this thread started by Macca and continue it instead of letting a threadjacking go on to long? I am guilty of threadjacking myself, but I try not to let my posts stretch it out to the point the original concept is lost.

I am going to try something new and NOT add my thoughts on the MDowling posts that make me just go between disbelief and shaking my head flabbergasted, and hope this is squashed soon.

Yes it is true, there are no bad dogs just bad owners, but a dog can be bad to start out w/ because of bad owners, a lot of byb pups have bad genes, they can "snap" at any time. this is why a lot of people on here stress when breeding you need to know the temperment of the parents, grandparents, great grandparents etc etc because it is in the genes. dogs with agressive issues are sometimes born that way, no matter what you do you can not fix the problem, other times it is because of the experience they have had and that can not be corrected either. its very sad :(

Actually I did not post my comments that I held back. You remind me of the member xxxxxxx who trolled for flames, wich your last few posts have done just that. Time to report your post to the mods and put you on ignore.

I'm not trolling for flames I'm simply having a discussion, obviously people are interested in the topic or there wouldn't be 50 replies. Go ahead and report me to the mods, if I get banned I'll be alright I swear. How bout this if you don't like my posts don't read them. That probably works better for everyone.

nmac- Subi is from rescue, it was my choice to own her, YES but i did not go to a byb and purchase her, that is what i mean about it NOT BEING MY CHOICE. If i had my way, she would have been in rescue but she came from a "responsible" breeder, although that does not happen because "responsible" breeders care about what they breed and if it doesnt work out with the new owners then the dog goes back to the breeder. "responsibly" bred dogs do not end up in rescue and shelters
