Completely Boxer Crazy
I just do not know what to do. Sable is still not getting better. Every day we are running her back into the vet for IV fluids to get her fever down and rehydrate her. She is still not responding to antibiotics. Her prognosis is undetermined due to a lack of definitive diagnosis. I want them to keep trying but at what point do you call it cruel? I love her and I cannot imagine losing her. I cannot imagine life without her. On the other hand, I hate seeing her suffer and if they could tell me that she is going to get better I would say pull out all stops and continue to do everything like we have been doing.
There is nothing more difficult than being the caregiver at home and seeing her suffer. My husband has taken the rest of the week off to be home with her. I have been with her the past couple days. We are both swamped at work and they have been very understanding but there comes a point when work is going to say enough is enough. My husband had to take her into the vet this morning and I told him to ask the vet what she thinks we should do. He is in tears. I am afraid for him to drive home.
Everyday we keep praying that this is going to be the day that she turns around. We have false hope everyday where she looks spunky for about a half an hour and then she spirals down again.
I read the boards here with others with sick pets going thru horrible experiences too and I just feel so bad for everyone else too. The pain is just unbearable. I pray for everyone here. And I thank everyone for your continued support. I do not know what I would do without this board and my personal Boxer contacts. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
