Boxers...single or a pair?

Curious as to other Boxer owner's feelings about having a single boxer or a pair of boxers. I have been seriously thinking about getting another boxer since I got Sally but am still on the fence. I have the space and ability to have more than one dog; just would like some insight from others who have thought (and maybe acted) on this?

Thanks! I think that is what I want to do (just wanted to here some reinforcement). I would like to rescue a boxer instead of going through a breeder.

Two (or more) boxers are definetely the way to go!!!! We had one boxer for almost a year until we added another......2 years later and I will never have just one!!! They keep each other entertained, wear each other out and you get extra boxer kisses, snuggles and double the laughter!!

I would rescue another if you had a chance, there are too many babies out there who need another chance. You will get paired up with a perfect match for your family.

I have three and it’s not all easy. Of course there is nothing better than seeing multiple Boxers romping in the yard but it depends on how old your boxer is and if you are having any behavior problems. I wouldn’t add a second while the 1st is still an adolescent. It’s really important that the 1st one is well adjusted before adding a second. That way you can focus on the new one. Because once you add a second any existing behavior problems can be exasperated.

I love having 3 and can't imagine only owning 1 dog now to be honest. I don't think I'd be able to handle 2 young dogs though (pups)
As long as you know what you're letting yourself in for and have the time & money I'd say go for it.

I have a 9 month old and a 11 week old and it's super busy but that's mostly because of the potty training w/ Sarge. Other than that I don't regret it at all.

As long as you have the time and space then I say go for it

I have 2 boxers and a rottweiler. It's great to see the 2 boxers play together. Some breeds don't tolerate the way boxers play, so a boxer/boxer combination is a good one!

We have two boxers. I can't imagine life without two. Sometimes I think, ugh, twice the vet bills, twice the food and care items,etc. But then it is also twice the laughs, twice the love, twice the warmth, twice everything that's good. I would definitely go for another boxer if all the conditions are good and it sounds like you have the ability. Good luck and keep us informed!

I had just Addie until she was 6 mo then I got clay who is 1 mo older. I will never just have one again. Mine do everything together, and that includes getting each other into trouble. I will admit that its not much more work than just having one. The expenses add up quickly, but over all its worth it. I love it though, you never really realize how much energy one dog cannot get out on her own. Once we got Clay, Addie finally got a chance to play all out with another dog as much as she wanted. So overall shes calmed down alot. I would say if you have the heart, the space, and the funds go for it, and dont look back. youll never just have one again.
