Boxer Traits

>>It's a perfect description when you consider their prodigious propensity to produce gas<<

LOL!!! Ok, Tom...I'll give you that. However, I would still like to see someone come up with something better then an image of a bean. Gas producer not-with-standing...it does nothing for me (visually speaking)...

Kawi's Mommy

I thought that's probably what "kidney bean" meant but wasn't for sure. My family calls her the "sausage dog" when she does that.

The other day I was picking Kawi up from the vet's office and there was a man standing at the counter ready to pay. Well as you boxer loves know, when they get excited they SLOBBER! Well, she was so excited to see her mommy that she was foaming and started shaking her head & the man got very annoyed at her! I told him that was a "boxer trait" but unlike us, he didn't find it as precious as we do.

This is such a cute topic. My Zodiac...he loves to wake up at the crack of dawn, only to fall back to sleep once I have actually woke up. He is definitely a snorer. His new habit is "talking back" He has a great growl that makes his cheeks vibrate and he loves to let it go when I am not paying him attention. He also stands on his hind legs and barks when I am watching the Titans and I start cheering!!! We have a blast with that...

Anyway...he is a constant ball of enthusiasm...

most of the messages I`ve read seem to apply to my new boxer puppy renegade...but I gotta ask... is hating snow a boxer trait too? I`m trying to potty train him and he was doing great till it snowed (we got 6 in), I shoveled him off a section of the yard, but still I put him on the ground and he looks at me and cries, and I have to carry him out there in the first place, therwise he looks out the door and then at me like I`ve done lost my mind. I even went out and bought him a sweeter! So back to my original question is this a boxer thing? or do I just have a snow-phobic boxer? :)

 dont forget them just walking up to you/anyone and leaning as if they're too tired to manage standing by themselves!!!

All of the above for our Gabby! The "kidney bean" thing had us worried for awhile but you all shed light on that (Thanks)she does that alot! I don't know what we have done without her all this time. She has quickly turned the corner from when she arrived and shows all the signs of a great boxer, even at 6 1/2 months---Am I proud or what:D Her snoring is amazing, like now, I can't believe the noise coming from her. Must be nice to sleep like that! Happy New Year to you all and all your Boxer babies!partyicon

How about doing the low crawl sneak away when he KNOWS he is in a down stay..."maybe mommy isnt pay close attention" then looking at you with the sad puppy face that says "if you let me up I promise to be good, really!"

HELP WITH POTTY TRAINING

Hi Boxer Mom and Dads
We recently became parents of a 4 month old boxer female named Sadie. She is adorable and very smart, but she wants to use the potty in one room of the house ALWAYS, and will not use it outside. We have tried what we know, which is taking her out, leaving her out in her kennel on nice afternoons, talking to her and trying to coax her to "PeePee" or "poop" but she waits until she comes in and goes straight to the paper (we have had to put down) and use it. I quess this was a habit that was started before we "adopted" her and we need help to retrain. Please help us!! We know there will be accidents, but this is where she thinks she is SUPPOSE to go. I have already worn out one steam vac.:)

Thanks
New Mom and Dad
