Boxer Traits

I have noticed with all the boxers babies we have had that there seems to be an accompanying "snorting-sneezing" fit that goes along when they do the little "kidney-beaning" dance too.
Sound familiar to anyone?

Tess does that all the time! She does it when she doesn't really care for the smell of something too (like nail polish...etc). Tenaia accompanies the snort-sniff with jackhammering and growling when she doesn't like something - nail polish, lid to the 20 gal food can, particular pot my daughter made. It's really funny!:D

Does anybody's elses's baby have springs in their legs? Sammi can leap over anything ( the hedges, the rottweiller, etc) from a standing position! Just...boing! :D

OK, my Cassiopia (Cassie for short) does all of those cute and quirky little boxerish things too, but does anyone else's babies think that all 75 pounds of them is supposed to sit in your lap? She also does the funniest little dance when it's time to go walking. She stands up on her hind legs ond bounces around in circles till she's facing me again. HOW QUIRKY!!!

Habits

I do believe that is a quirk... When I as Enzo about going for a walk will tilt his head, then tear off like his butt is on fire toward where I keep the leash. I have never seen him hop on his hind legs....!! that is too funny.....

I don't think there is one thing I've read that I haven't seen Southpaw do! She just recently turned one and is every bit spoiled now as she was when she was a pup. The only thing I haven't heard mentioned was how my fiance and I can't hug, kiss or show ANY kind of affection without her getting some too. She jumps all over us and will bark until she gets some loving too!! We wouldn't trade her for a million bucks though.:D

Spoiled!!???!?!??

I know how you feel. Aside from spoiled being a boxer trait (we have no control, we are at their mercy). Enzo dosen't like to be left out on hugs... generally he will just pry himself in, or he will snivel until he gets some himself.

I am new to this forum, but I love it so far. I have two boxers, Mother Chloe and her son Oscar. She is 3 years old and he is 14 months. I see all of the above listed traits in my dogs as well. However, I don't know what "kidney beaning" is. Would someone please define that? My dogs probably do it, I just can't for the life of me figure that one out. My dogs are great. I love them so much. They are so much fun and yet so lovable when the right time comes. Thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful place. As so as I can get someone to put pictures of my dogs up, I will. They are both fawn with black masks. They both have white chests and toes. Both have their ears cropped, and actually look almost identical. Thanks again. Lori

Kidney beaning is just adorable. It is when their head meets their tail and their body is twisted like a kidney bean. I'm sure yours do that too, as that seems to be a 100% trait, just like "jackhammering". We have tried to come up with descriptive words to descrive their quirky little traits.. like when my granpuppy pushes her dish around and plays with things like a cat would...:D
