Boxer Traits

WOW

WOW is really the best word for me. As a new owner and a very inexperienced one at that it was truly insightful to hear some of the traits of the boxer. Spike my 6 month old does all above along with wanting to dance with my 8 year old daughter. His paws in her hands or wrapped around her waist. They prance about. I had wondered if he were sane at times the way he would run and jump for no apparent reason, or go on his back and moan and lick the air.

Peanut has all the ones Cooper has. Spiceis older and not as enthusiastic, but she's all boxer when it comes to kidneybeaning and especially snoring among many others. Aren't they wonderful!

our buddy JACK has got most of the traits that you have all mentioned he just loves giving cuddles,this is the first time ive owned a boxer (had other dogs)and we are just blown away with there personallity.yes jack thinks he is human to,he is our constant shadow he is never to far away. we have a caravan in a national park that we go to on weekends,there is a big dam that we go water sking & jet sking on . jack just loves it out there thinks hes the king of the place.he plays in the water putting his head under and running along as if he is looking for fish or something.he will not swim, only go as far as he can stand. he sits on every ones feet,forever pushing between our legs to sit , he has not been bought up around little kids but he is amazing with my brothers two little ones. once when we caught a fish we laid it on the sand for the kids to have a look at,jack put him self between the fish and the kids and he wouldnt let them get to close,jack some times wanders over to the van behind us because they have a female boxer named holly,they play for hours. when she is not there he looks so sad.he is also a bit of a rogue, a few times he has come back with peoples sun glasses ora toy etc, then we have to find the owners to return them. im raving a bit but i guess you all could go on forever about your lovely boxers they are just so lovable

Diane-

I can certainly identify with Jack's "swimming" technique (Check my poem Cruiser's First Swim). However, Cruiser can now swim like a muskrat, and jumps in the creek with our German Shepherd at every opportunity.

About bringing you someone elses sunglasses, Cruiser has not yet had an opportunity to "steal" anything and bring it to us, but I recall when I was a child, my grandparents lived on the farm. Their boxer Bogie was notorious for bringing the neighbors' chickens home. They were unharmed, but had to be returned to their rightful owners. Ain't they great!

jack is 3 yrs old but he still wont swim, another thing is that he thinks every one is his friend (cute)also when he sees another dog he just goes crazy wanting to play with them.most of the time he does what he is told,except when there is a playmate around then all his training and good manners go right out the window.

bath water?

Our boxer called Bonnie drinks bathwater - she can open any doors with long handles in or out - barges in when I am in the bath and drinks, shakes her head, smiles and trots off again! We have since learnt to keep the toilet seat down !!!

Lucky is my baby. She lays on her back, farts out loud, the Woo Woo song as well as the "jackhammer". She has figured out how to ge the lazy boy in a reclining posistion without help. She has over 35 toys and unfortunately most of them squeak. Trust me. Her favorite treat is Frosty Paws, she can't get enough.

My baby's traits

My baby, Hera, is still only weeks old, but I already see almost all of the traits that Cooper has. Gas is definately one of them! My boyfriend and I like to call her H*ll on Paws! I wouldn't trade her leaping around like a crazed deer for anything.
