Traits!

I'm so glad I noticed this forum!
Rusty and Tobie are very different, and due to the circumstances that my ex owns Rusty and I own Tobie they don't live together. But I have had Rusty a few times and they really are cute together. Anyway, here are their traits:
Rusty and Tobie EAT anything. don't you think Boxers are part goat? I'll never forget the morning I got up to take Rusty out, predating Tobie's existance, and found a long strand of the green crochet yarn I was using to make placemats with, running up and down the upstairs hallway and down the stairs. I followed it down the stairs right to Rusty and realized it went right on in...I started pulling, and fortunately for me, he only had about a third of the skien in there and no trip to the vet was necessary!!! :D He must have been eating it really quickly!! That still pales, however next to the time he went next door and ate the poopy baby diaper from the neighbors trash and threw it up in my hallway...and then they sit there and give you the "sad eyes" and there isn't anything you won't do for them.
Rusty will potty anywhere, but does two of everything on ever trip, Tobie has to hide under a bush or tree and look at me the whole time like I need to go away...Rusty woo woos and jabble talks, you know when they start making sounds and flobbering their lips. Tobie only jabble talks when he is frustrated or ignored and otherwise barks and howls. They both kidney bean and jump up and put their paws on my shoulders when they see me and give me many little boxer kisses. Both of them can give you looks to kill and I know we've all seen that! Tobie does the stand right up with the tongue curled and happy face that I saw in the forum earlier too. He also loves balls and will use his front paws just like a human to hold on to one. He also loves it when I turn on the garden hose, he tries to bite the water and will just stand there leaping into it and sticking his face into it and it blows his lips all over the place!
I could go on and on, sorry! I really love my boxer boys, and I really miss my Rusty.

Hi All! My max has many of the wonderfu traits mentioned but I was wondering does anyone have a pup that sighs...? Max, just before he decides to humor us, gives out this big sigh like he saying, "ok, my people need some attention, better be cute." And then there is his long dramatic fifteen second sigh when he sees us getting ready to go to work...ending of coarse with the flop of the "fifteen pound" head onto the floor!!!! MyMAX

Our Bri, sigh really loud when she's mad. If we move her off a piece of furniture or tell her no. She will sigh very loudly and then walk away with a back ward glance, as if to say "you'll be sorry".

I forgot to mention that Tenaia does what we call her "cartoon" snore - you know with the lips sort of making a flapping sound with a little "woop woop woop" noise.

Someone else mentioned the need to have whatever the other one had - Tenaia does too! If Tess has a toy or bone or ??? Tenaia will play this little coy game of laying near Tess, but not so close as to be growled at, then she sort of rolls over with her head upside down and kind of "slugs" up under Tess' head and muzzles her way in to Tess' mouth and swipes the toy! Poor Tess just looks at me like "how did that happen and why aren't you doing something about it (cuz I know I'll get in trouble if I try to defend my stuff!). She (tenaia) likes to lick Tess' ears too - at least I know they are always clean and Tess doesn't seem to mind. And the spray bottle or hose - good luck trying to use either one without the help of Tenaia! She gets first crack at the water or you don't get to use it. :p

Tess loves to fight the vacuum! and she has let that rub off on Tenaia as well. Can't vacuum the house without playing first. They like to have the nozzle stuck in their mouths and suck their tongues and cheeks. Weird but absolutely hilarious (except when I am in a hurry!)

Gotta love 'em! :D :D

our three month old puppy webber sighs loudly when he's bored. after we've spent all our energy playing with him and running him around he lays down on the tile floor in the kitchen, sighs loudly and it looks as if he has eyebrows and he crinkles them up (does that make sense!??!).

one trait that our boxer baby does NOT have is napping outside of his crate. he just has too much energy!!! :p but we were lucky enough to see him fall asleep yesterday and that was only the second time he's done that. the first time was when he was about 10 weeks old!

One of my least favorite traits is the white foam that collects at the corners of their cheeks. When Maggie gets really excited and is panting alot the foam starts comming out and she loves to come and swipe it on you, especially when we have guests over (they usually are dressed nice too) Then she will shake her head and it will fling up and stick to the walls! All our walls have slober and eye goobers dried on, I seemed to forget they are their untill I'm on the floor with the dogs and see they are on everything!
Only a boxer mom would love them anyway!

I was reading through all these posts waiting to get an eye booger comment. Gus does the foam-shaking too. Always, always when people are dressed nicely. I just laugh and wipe it off, everyone else is like "Gross, oh that is disgusting. I knew I shouldn't have worn nice clothes." or --- the worst --- "can you lock him up or something until I leave," these are the very bad people. My husband and I say they deserved the slobber after they leave.

Eye boogers...yes. They are all over the walls but it seems like other people are the ones that notice. I keep my house very clean. I hate dirt and hair everywhere...But the dried eye boogers on the wall--they make me laugh. After I clean them I notice more of them....everywhere.

:D

Another one of Gus's traits is that he HATES to go out and potty in the rain. He won't go out the back door. We have to go through the garage. Of course, he still won't go out. He just looks at us like "I have to pee...what do I do". We are so whipped -- we walk out into the rain, then he follows to go potty. Dumb humans.

My boy Cruiser would rather drink from the toilet than have a clean, fresh bowl of water ANY DAY! Anyone else's boxer do that?

My girl Ruby is so similar in so many ways, but the main thing she does that is different from other boxers is that she doesn't do the bum wiggle. When she is soooo happy her tails simply goes up and down (the faster, the happier she is).

We bought a toy mouse for our cat, it has a pull cord with a ring on the end of it. You pull the string and the mouse moves along the floor. Ruby has stolen this from our cat and with the ring hooked through a fang (she does this herself), uses her paws to hold down the mouse, while moving her head back and presto, lets the paws off and the mouse winds up to her mouth. Sometimes she just hooks the ring in and swings her head, from left to right and that is enough to send the mouse out full length of the string, to then hit her shoulders.

We have since bought her squeeze toys, like a cow, that moos when you squeeze it's tummy. If we aren't up at a reasonable hour, on our days off (how do they know it's Sunday??) you simply hear non-stop mooing.

Yes, I could go on forever, but lastly we were babysitting our 3yo nephew and got into blowing bubbles. Ruby joined in by trying to gulp any that she could reach, 3yo got very annoyed that they were being eaten.

Diva has the wiggle and alot of it..lol...but one thing she does than all the other boxers I have had is Talking Back To Me! LOL...I'll tell her No or go lay down she sometimes does one little woof, but most of the time she will howl and turn away then go pout for about 5 min it's so funny. She did that in the car with me last night at wendys drive in at the window she was just up in the midle and I was like Diva get back and lay down she just howls Loud! and the lady in there was just laughing at her. But she does have all the other boxer traits frog legs, leaving her back legs on the couch or on me lol then stretching out onto the floor with her front paws. moaning like a baby calf when trying to get comfortable..;) haha boxers are just great!
