My Pup Guinness will be 2 years old on Feb 5th. He's a power chewer and destroys most toys aside from KONG or Nyla-bone. I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction where to go next as far as getting toys goes??? I dont want to get him the same old toys but thoise seem to be the only ones that last! Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys/girls!

Not sure what kind of toy you're looking for, but we couldn't keep up with getting new balls for Cora, so we switched to a lacrosse ball. I don't think the ball has a single bite mark in it. Very durable, bounces great. A bit on the heavier side but hasn't been a problem. She loves it.

We have a (feels like rubber) frisbee from kong, which seems indestructible. She loves to fetch it but brings it over for tug-war too. But you said you already have a few from kong/know about them.

Cora, I too have a lacrosse ball for Guinness it's probably a year old and just now on its way out so yeah I could pick up some more of those!

Yes Cuz, is sturdy, has not been destroyed yet, it has been 6 months. Also the durable Nylabones, anything in the Nylabone line. Not edibles. The galileo bones too.

JW is the makers of the "Cuz" line and pretty much anything I've bought from them I still have. Though I recomend you try the sqeaker at the store because some have a pretty annoying tone to them. We have a "blue kitty" that only comes out when the dogs have been especially good and then it's only for about 20 mins becuase the noise it makes just drives me nuts! Of course it's one of the toys that Arabella loves to squeak over and over again. Also I found that Kyjen Hard Core Fire Hose hold up pretty well. It's made from actual firehose material.

We get 3-6 months out of them before they start to fray. That's with two dogs playing tug-of-war with them. My dogs also love the Kong Wubba. It's a fabric covered Kong with octopus like "legs".

We go through a lot of toys as well. I agree with the previous posters - Cuz toys and Kong Wubbas seem to last long (though our Wubbas eventually lose all the octapus legs!). Tried the everlasting treat ball which did last for about an hour the first time...Now they can pop the treats out in just a few minutes so we don't bother. The Chuckit toys seem to be pretty durable as well.

By far the best toy we have is the "Omega Paw Tricky Treats Ball". You can put a handful of kibble in and it will take quite some time to roll out. Neither try to chew the ball; I think they are too afraid it won't drop food out anymore if they chew it!! They have it at Petsmart and the local grocery store.

I took the advice of a post from an older thread and checked out petedge.com. Last year we ordered a whole bunch of toys for so much less than retail. About to place another order as we probably got 2-3x more toys than if we had paid full price in the store. It was a good way to try out a bunch of toys to see what lasts. They do have a minimum order amount, but if you plan ahead and buy a year's worth of toys at once, you'll save a bunch in the long run. A bonus - they are in Massachusetts and our free "ground" shipping arrived the next day.

our "wubby" purple octopus has lasted so far about 6 mo , that also is with two playing tug - and kush using it for a chew toy. by FAR the best toy i have bought so far , did buy a fabric 3 sided toy ( 29.00) that only lasted about 5-6 weeks before kuch had a corner chewed and started "killing it" this thing was "luggage" material & triple sewn ! ( forgot the brand ) so i really think its all about the design & LACK of stuffing at my house !

wubby still even has most of her legs ! ( i do hide it for a few days at a time - then get it back out with some fanfare to keep them interested )

i have seen the "creature things" that was posted - wondered how those held up .... since i have all wood floors , they might be a bit nicer hearing thrown around then the bones !!! might have to grab one this weekend.

I will agree with the JW brand stuff. We have many different toys made by them and they hold up very well. 3 years on one of the toys and slightly over a year for some of the other. Have a Kong Wubba that has lasted since last x-mas quite well.

I too agree with the JW products. Capone is a power chewer too and he hasn't destroyed any of those yet. Same with Kong and Nylabone. I also found this rubber jack made by Okra. It says its for power chewers too. We've had it 3 weeks and it's still ok ha. We also bought him a heavy duty basketball.
