I'm not in NC, but only about 5minutes from the NC line. Greensboro is about 50 minutes to an hour away, we might be able to come to a boxer bash there, but I doubt anywhere else. I was wondering if Greensboro had a dog park.. that's awesome that they do. I'm interested in this boxer bash, as I've been thinking about getting one together for the Southern VA people, but there are no dog parks in my immediate area.. so I was kinda thrown on that. The only things we do have are fenced baseball fields and tennis courts. Keep us posted!

How about April 3rd or 10th

Buttercups8 and anyone interested in a Greensboro boxer playdate:
April 3rd or 10th would work well for me. Lets make some tentative plans for the 3rd and see what the weather brings. If its cold wet or whatever we'll make the 10th a rain date. What time will work best for the majority? Before or after noon? RSVP with time suggestions!

Completely Boxer Crazy
I would love to try and make it! We have Heidi and she's about 4 years old. It would be great to see her play with other boxers. Right now, all she has to play with is her bratty little brother whose a 6 month old Shih Tzu :) ;). Please keep us updated..the only problem I foresee with us is both our kids play ball, most weekends we are running them around to games. Greensboro is about 40 minutes north of us.

Hey FrequentFlyr! Boxer bash sounds great. I think you PMed me before it was disabled with your email but I was out of town and didn't write it down before they took it away. I also live in Winston and I think I'm pretty close to you. I'm the one that had three boxers...well now I have four. I just adopted one from the Forsyth County shelter. She is a white deaf boxer. I know a couple of mine would love a boxer bash. However, I have one girl that is a little aggressive when first meeting another dog but within a couple of hours she is fine. I would have to leave her out of this but I will do something special for her.

bloving. Wow 4 boxers good for you and so lucky for your new white girl that you found her.

Actually I have never had my boy off his leash and running about playing with other boxers or any other unfamiliar dogs for that matter, other then in my yard with a young female boxer he knows well and his 2 old senior boxer buddies but they don't play with him they avoid him if they can. He has been around other dogs on his lead and does OK, for a boxer. He's eager to meet, greet and play. I'm hoping he won't totally embarrass me with his bad manners.

I'm looking forward to going to Country Park and may get out there this weekend or the next pending lousy weather to check it out before our boxer bash. I'll post my opinion after I have a visit, although keep in mind I have never visited an official dog park so my opinion will be one of limited knowledge.

If we are able to come to this proposed boxer bash, I don't think anytime in March would be good for us. April might be better, and probably after 12 in the afternoon. But that's us!

April 3rd is great!

I think April 3rd sounds great. After noon would work better for me but I can make arrangements for before if need be. I am looking forward to Bentley being around other dogs. I have never been to a Dog Park so make sure you let us what it is like! This will be the first time Bentley will be able to be off his leash in such a large area with other dogs around so I am a little concerned about how he will do. He loves other dogs so much that he gets extremely hyper. Let me know!

We went & checked out the park.It was awesome. So much fun!

MapQuest direction were so bad and confusing. Aim for the Natural Science Center of Greensboro instead much easier~

Here's the directions to Country Park! It's behind the Natural Science Center in Greensboro(4301 Lawndale Drive Greensboro, NC 27455) Park in the rear of their parking lot. For easy access to the park.

You will see a kids playground at the bottom of the hill near the lake/pond walk to the left of the park on the trail and up the steep hill it will bring you out in the front of the Bark Park just across the bike path rode~

Remember to bring bottled water just in case you need to break up a dog dilemma! (someone suggested this to me) I didn't let my boy play I was chicken he was a bit riled up from all the excitement. There were 4 other boxers there and one more arriving as we were leaving. There were a great variety of dogs at the bark park and all of them were getting along great. I can't wait to go back again. There was even a dog fountain. What a nice set up they had. There were 3 or 4 very large wooded areas with 8 Ft fencing for different types of dogs, ie small breeds, loners, ect. I opted for the loner area today in hopes that my boy will adjust his manners to play nice with others.Hmm

FROM WINSTON SALEM (1-40)

FROM 1-40 EAST, TAKE EXIT 210. AT THE BOTTOM OF RAMP, TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW 68N TO PTI/BRYAN BLVD EXIT. FOLLOW BRYAN BLVD TO WESTRIDGE ROAD EXIT. TURN RIGHT ON WESTRIDGE ROAD, RIGHT ON BATTLEGROUND AVE, LEFT ON PISGAH CHURCH ROAD, LEFT ON LAWNDALE DR. NSC IS APPROXIMATELY .5 MILES ON LEFT.

we'd like to join also

Hey ya'll. I just read that you were planning a bash. I am also from Walkertown and this sounds like a lot of fun. My kids love playing with eachother so I'm sure they'd love to play with others. I'l keep an eye out and if you're still on for April 3rd, we'll see you then. I also wanted to let you know that there is a dog park in W-S. It's called Washington Park off Peters Creek Parkway. There's ballfields all around it and a huge fenced in area for the dogs. I've played ball there before, but haven't ever taked the babies, however, I know many who have gone. just an FYI. Well hope to see you soon.
