MajorMom brought up an important point...get pictures of Biscuits injuries. If this continues, you'll want a photographic history of this.

Hugs, little Biscuit.

Poor Biscuit! Hope she recovers quickly. Ruby sends lots of hugs. Please pursue this legally to have that awful **#@!! owner pay what she LAWFULLY is obligated to. And don't feel bad if they put her dog down; it was not your fault. Excuse me, but that owner sucks!

I hope your baby is healing well. What a shock. You did the right thing. That other dog has tasted blood and progresses on to larger victims. By reporting this you probably saved someones (kids) life.
We had an Ads on TV some weeks ago that describes such a situation exactly, where the dog run outside the front fence and bites/attacks passers by. People are urged to keep they dog at the back of the house. The reason for the Ad campaign was; that there were a lot of attacks on young kids being killed some severely mamed.
I think every attack should be reported, at least there is a history of incidences.
Best Regards

Best wishes for Bisquit's speedy recovery. :)

I agree with the others-- You DID do the right thing by calling the dog warden. Don't beat yourself up over it. It is not your fault at all. If you had not reported this, and the dog attacked a child, how would you feel then?
These owners should be held accountable. If they had been warned previously, there is NO EXCUSE that their dog is still loose, unlicensed, and unvaccinated!!

I don't much care for Chows, much less their owners. I wish that Chow would've tried that shit on Pharaoh....I'll tell you one thing, he wouldn't have done it again! I hate stories like this. I can understand accidents, as they happen, but this was sheer negligence! One day, that dog's going to pick on the wrong dog. I would take everyone else's suggestions and call animal control. If the dog is current on shots, they'll make the owner do home quarantine and post signs. If it happens again, she'll be ticketed....most states have a 3 strikes your out rule. If you don't do something now, this could happen to another person, perhaps a child or a small dog that can't withstand such an attack. I'd like to introduce him to a few of our boxers....he he he...like one of the board's 90lb'ers!

Thank goodness Biscuit was not more seriously injured! I'm glad that you have reported this incident to the proper authorities! You did everything right and your neighbor did everything wrong! :( I would also consider what some people have posted about taking this matter to the courts! Please keep us posted about Biscuit's recovery!

I'm sorry to hear about Biscuit. If the owner doesn't offer to pay for the damages I would definitely persue it in court. The chows owner must be held responsible for her dogs actions.

Gentle hugs and kisses to Biscuit. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Just wanted to say hugs to Biscuit I hope she is feeling better. As for that Chow it has already crossed over a line that I don't believe it can cross back on. I had a chow/shepherd that mauled my husband (100 stiches worth), as much as I loved that dog I couldn't allow it to live in my household or anyone else's I had him put down. I don't believe the owner is caring or responsible, the first thing I would've have done is help a person in need as the two of you were, even if it mean't hurting my own dog. I say go after her for the expenses, it is the least she can do. Good Luck and keep us posted on Biscuit.

I just wanted to wish Biscuit a speedy and complete recovery. What a horrible thing for both of you to have to go through. My sympathies to both of you.

I absolutely agree that you MUST get a lawyer and sue the pants of the Chow owner. This is imperative as your vet bills are going to be extremely high. The owner of the Chow is totally responsible for all the expenses and maybe pain and suffering too. She'd been warned and did not comply with the legalities of dog ownership in your area. She MUST pay the price.

As for the Chow being put down, do not feel guilty in the least. It is the owner who should feel guilty. If she had complied and cared enough about her dog to train it not to attack people and other animals, then she wouldn't be in this situation (and neither would you). In fact, you may be doing the Chow a favor if it happens. An owner like that is an animal abuser. If you don't care enough to teach your animal to be safe (she could get killed by a bigger dog she attacks as her taste for blood continues), then she is abusing the animal in my view. She has no right to own a dog in that case. The dog is better off being put out of its abused misery.

Again, I'm so sorry for you and Biscuit. My best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Take the advice of these good people here at Boxerworld and take the owner to task for her (in)actions. My prayers are with Biscuit.

Sincerely,
