My 11 week old puppy Urijah only likes toys that make noise, but I hate the squeaky toys.

I took a 2 liter pop bottle and put about 20 pieces of dog kibble in it. HOURS of fun chasing and batting it around the house. It make just enough noise to keep him happy but does not drive me crazy. It is also nice because it is so large around he cannot bite through it.

I am sure it will on be a week or 2 before I will have to come up with some thing else, but this works for now.

Any one got any other good toy ideas??

That sounds like a good one...might have to steal the idea from you. Aniah as well is really only interested in noisy toys.

Bottle Toy

I actually found a toy like this at Target a couple of weeks ago called Tug-a-Jug, and Cash still can not figure it out, lol. The bottom screws off for you to put treats in, and the top has a rubber stopper/tug thing that allows them to get the treats out (once they figure out how). Here's a link to the toy.

Charlie Paper also loves toys that make noise & empty 2-liters or milk jugs! Working in a dog kennel, I have learned to tune out most annoying noises, my fiance gets annoyed by squeaky toys very quickly. I'll have to try the kibble in a bottle trick & look into getting the tug-a-jug. :)

Got Cora a tree branch she won't put it down lol - free. We have this hollow plastic ball with holes all over the outside of it, put the stick through the ball so now it rolls around, spins, fun to carry around? (ball slides down to one end making it heavier on one side)... bottles work - free, ice cubes (was more play when she was smaller) - free, weazel ball (don't even need to turn the thing on she carries it around and tosses it around all day - wish it was covered in rubber so it wouldn't hit the ground so hard when she decides it deserves a beating) - 4$.

Anyone elses boxer punch Kongs around till they're empty? I dont think i've ever seen her touch the thing with her mouth.

Roxy loves empty milk platic jugs and soda bottles. They are used as outside toys (she loves to run with them all around the yard while I pretend to try to snatch them from her when she runs nearby...which she does to tease me) But I might use your idea for indoors...thanks for sharing!

Tried this this weekend with my 9 week puppy. I first tried it with a 20 ounce bottle. He loved it, but was able to poke a hole in it in about 10 minutes. Once he poked the hole in it he was able to flatten the bottle and start chewing on the plastic so I threw it away and upgraded his 20 ounce to a 2 liter. That one lasted about 30 minutes before he figured out how to put a hole in it and flatten it too. I have no idea how his little mouth was able to puncture the 2 liter but he did.

Great toy. I just need to watch him while he plays with it.

Thanks for the idea.

Matt
