Update!!
Well, I took Maddie back to the hospital on Monday for a recheck. Once we carried her out to the car, her color became crappy again. By the time I walked her into the hospital and she became excited because she saw one her favorite people there (a co-worker of mine who she likes) her color became almost white again. The doctors were very alarmed how pale she was (I kept telling them she gets pretty bad anytime she exerts any energy) but this was the first time they actually got to see it happen. The good news is her PCV was up to 31% (which surprised us all because of how bad her color was.) So, I was very happy that it went up and it appears her body is trying to regenerate the red blood cells she lost. The bad news is they still have no idea why she is becoming so pale every time she gets excited or exerts energy. They did another ultrasound and a quick echo and thankfully found nothing however, the doctor said that doesn't mean that there isn't something there. Sometimes the tumors cannot be picked up by ultrasound. The doctor is still concerned that there might be a tumor that caused the bleed and it might be pushing on something when she moves to cause her to become pale. She also said there is a possibility that there might be two problems going on (cardiac and GI.) The plan is to let her try to rest and recover this week and see how she is come next week. If this is still continuing to happen then we need to think about what our next steps will be. She is still off the pred (which she is on because of the insulinoma) and I "think" for the most part her glucose's are pretty much staying as they were when she was on it. I am scared for her to be off it but I am scared for to be on it again "if" that is what could have caused the bleed.
So, my baby girl is still hanging in there, thank God. There are still a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of things we are uncertain of. I cannot even begin to explain how overjoyed I was to be able to hold my baby as we rang in the new year!!! I will take her to work with me on Monday to check her levels again (which of course makes me nervous since the car ride and the anxiety of being in the hospital will make her pale) but she needs checked again. I was fortunate that I had these 2 weeks off for vacation so I was able to be by her side and devote all my attention to her. I have to go back to work on Monday and I'm scared. I'm scared to leave her, my dad will be watching her while we are working but no one can care for her like me!!! I'm still praying and trying to hang on to the slightest ray of hope that this was all brought on by the pred and she is just having a slow recovery. I have never been so happy to have her at my feet begging for food!!! That's our update for now. Thanks again for all the prayers, keep them coming if you can!!
((hug))
