I don't know what it is, but one of my boys has smelly feet, and body, just like you said, I will give him a bath and a day or two later, he smells like dirty feet! But my other dog, never smelled like that, he keeps a good scent from a bath alot longer than the other dog, and his feet don't stink. I wish they were all like him!

I would say about once every month or 2.
We actually bathed them today. It is very hot here today, so a bath was a good idea to cool them off.

I like the way my dogs smell. I'd rather have my dogs smelling like dogs than perfume!

I don't bathe them unless they've been into something stinky. But generally, about every 3 months they get a bath, less in winter, more in warmer weather either to cool off or because they seem to get into more stinky stuff in the summer. :)

Bath time

Baxter is 4 1/2 months old and has had 2 baths, mostly so he gets used to being bathed. I thought that it would be easier to handle him at 30 pounds and get him used to the idea, than to wait till he was bigger and really needed one!

Hugo gets a bath once a week whether he needs it or not. After getting him, I discovered that I am not only allergic to cats, but also allergic to my little boxer boy. Keeping his coat clean and dander down helps greatly.

I use a gentle shampoo, and then use conditioner to keep his skin shiny and keep him from getting dry skin.

I am Lucky I guess

Cooper doesn't normally smell bad, but his feet get pretty rank at times along with those armpits, I have noticed that when he plays with other dogs is when he smells the worst and he will get a rash in his armpits, I was always under the impression that dogs don't actually sweat but I wonder if that is true or not cuz my boy seems to sweat. I bathe him every month in the summer and just once in the winter (depending on situation) with oatmeal shampoo.

and on a side note as well, I am not sure if this is really true or not but it DID help me. My breeder told me when I got Cooper to put cedar chips in his crate, that it first of all helps with the smellies, keeps bugs away, has oils on it to help his coat and will condition him not to smell when he is older, so that is what I did for the first year, I put about 2-3 inches of cedar chips in his crate and he loved to get in there and roll around in them and burry himself, she also said it soothes them while being in the crate and now that he is older he has a cedar sak bed, he doesn't use it all the time but enough to help keep him fresh. Just a thought.

Benson gets a bath once or twice per month with an oatmeal dog shampoo.

He loves bath time... he gets in the tub himself and he even lets me wash his face.
