A very easy way to cook lamb if like me you do not want to spend too much time cooking.

Ingredients:

  • butterflied lamb leg
  • teriyaki sauce. Mine was a Kikkoman Teriyaki marinade 250ml bottle
  • some garlic

Marinate well the lamb in a bowl full of teriyaki marinade with some bits of garlic. I marinated it for about 12 hours. Cook it on the BBQ and that's all :)

I have yet to have lamb. I'm not sure why, I just can't bring myself to eat it. I think I need to give it a try, I've heard so many good things about it. Does the taste compare to any other meat?

Not really ;) It is closer to beef, most closely veal, than to anything else I can think of (e.g. chicken, fish, duck, venison...), but still quite a different taste. It can be a very tender meat :)

Olly I love a BBQ Butterflied lamb leg. I haven't had one in so long. :( I always used to marinate it in Mint sauce. It's really really good. :)

I ate a lamb shank with mint sauce in a pub beericon in Newquay, Cornwall. A little surprising at the beginning but it was quite good.

I'll definately be sure to do that! I KNOW I couldn't bring myself to eat that! We are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and are eating at Emeril's restaurant there. I might give it a try. :)
Keep us updated. We want photos!
I am making a page of ducks on BBQ hungryicon

I made this for my Family last night - they loved it. They all favour Lamb over any other meat though, so they were all biased to start. I can't tell you how it tasted as I do not eat meat, but it smelt awesome. DH would have LOVED some mint sauce on the side though!!

Thanks for the recipe.
