The only thing Beau LOVES to chew on is wood. That's not such a great thing in my house. He has nearly destroyed my papasan chair frame and a wicker chair in my living room. He will even stick his head in the fireplace to retrieve pieces of wood to chew on and loves to raid my bag for pencils. I've never talked to anyone else whose boxer does this, so hopefully it's an isolated case and you won't have to deal with it!!!

Beau is not alone. Lucy loves to chew wood. She has eaten a pencil and a wooden clothes pin. She destoys sticks when she is outside. Wood chips from the garden are a delicacy for her. The best was the day DH was doing some home improvement and left an 8 foot 2 X 4 on the living room floor while he went downstairs. I walked in on Lucy just chewing away. Wish I had a picture of that!!

Looks like Boomer is in good company in the WOOD chewers dept! My kids constantly leave pencils laying around after doing their homework, and if I don't find them, Boomer definitely does! He loves pencils, wood for/from the fireplace. Luckily, he's never chewed any furniture, but he's gotten ahold of a barbie that my daughter didn't put up-all that was left was a torso-not very funny to her (it was hilarious to me when she came in half crying and said "Looook whaaaat Boommmmerrrrr diiiid!")-she's learned about putting her stuff up, though!

Our Petie did chew a lot when he was younger. His favorite thing to chew was the baseboards and window-sills in our house. I still dont know how he could chew a baseboard!? We made the mistake of leaving him in the house when we left rather than kenneling him or blocking him off in a "boxer proof" room. He is better now and we won't make the same mistake with our new little girl- Daisy May!

Tucker chews like crazy, but it's pretty easy to limit his chewing to toys. He especially likes the plush squeaky dolls and tennis balls.
