Just wanted to say thanks again for the wonderful suggestions and kind words!
A brief summary...
First, we went to my favorite steak house for dinner. The meal was great and it wasn't really crowded since it was a Thursday night, so nice. I gave him a card that I had written a little letter inside telling him how special this anniversary was to me and how proud I was that we had hung in there. After dinner we went to a pet store and he let me pick out some boxer stuff (he knows the way to MY heart...
). Then we went for a drive (like we used to when we were dating lovicon). We ended up picking up some dessert (chocolate brownie pie and vanilla ice cream) and sharing that...then proceeded on home...it was a wonderful night 
I feel truly lucky and blessed to have what we have together. He is all I could ever ask for.
But that is enough of the mushy stuff...
