A man was murdered two houses from mine!!!

My husband and I are also going out Sat. to buy a gun. There is a shooting range not too far from here and that's where I will be spending time fine tuning my shot. I know this is a very controversal topic, but my husband travels a lot. I need a way to protect my children should anyone break into our home. Cheryl

A wise decision any way you look at it. A former manager convinced me that I needed some added protection. Live by myself (except for my pets) out in the country. Him and a lady at the gun range taught me how to use it, but not very well. I need to start practicing to at least be consistant. I hope when you get your gun and learn how to use it, you will get some peace of mind.

I am not sure if Cheryl is in town this weekend or not, so i thought i would give everyone an update on this story.
They found the murderer. he was still in town visiting his grandmother and mother. apparently he was targeting both realtors and people selling cars. The police still havent released the motive. and from the news this AM there appears to be no motive. :( I will update if they find one, for those of you who are as curious as me!

Hi all...I'm here. Thanks anyway Carolyn! They did find the murderer at his Mom's house last night about 2 miles away from here! However, they feel more arrests will be coming. I just got finished meeting with an electrican to see about having spot lights put up all around my house. I'm planning on turning night into day!

Thank goodness that they've caught someone! Hopefully if there is anyone else involved they will be caught ASAP too. I am glad to hear all is safe and you are taking precautions around your home. Lighting is great, especially motion dectectors. I hope the girls are feeling a little better now.

Yes, my girls are feeling better and finally sleeping in their own bedrooms. The police have not said why they feel there will be any more arrests. As a matter of fact, it's pretty much dropped out of the news! They also have not said anything about motive. It just sounds like a murder for hire to me. I think that poor Realtor must have gotten someone very mad at one point, and this is how they took care of him. Of course that is my opinion....the police have not said anything yet! On Sat. I purchased a gun and I have a private shooting/safety lesson set up for Wed. morning. Unfortunately police do not have a very good respond time here (even reported on the news) and I feel that I need to be able to protect my girls if need be. I'll keep posting updates as I hear them! Thanks all for your concern.
