Our Dog Parks operate from 6 AM to 10 PM. Fenced Dog parks have trash bins, parking and poop bag dispensers. Simpson Park has dog accessible water fountains. Alexandria is a dog friendly City! For everyone's enjoyment please adhere to posted rules.

Fenced Dog Parks are located at
1. Simpson Stadium Park at Monroe Avenue
2. 5000 block of Duke Street east of the Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Library
3. Montgomery Park at the corner of Fairfax and 1st Streets
4. Chetworth Park at Chetworth Place
5. Ben Brenman Park by Backlick Creek

Unfenced sites, Dog Exercise Areas, are located at
1. 100ft by 100ft area of northeast corner of Founders Park at Oronoco Street and the
Potomac River.
2. Pommander Park at southwest corner of Gibbon and Union Streets.
3. SE corner of Braddock Road and Commonwealth Avenue.
4. Hooff’s Run, east of Commonwealth between Oak and Chapman Streets.
5. Area between Ft. Williams and New Ft. Williams Pkwy.
6. Along Old Mill Run west of Gordon Street (Tarleton Park)
7. SE corner of Armistead and Beauregard Streets.
8. Along Chambliss Street north of tennis courts at Grigsby Avenue.
9. East side of entrance to Fort Ward Park (100 ft by 100 ft area).
10. Median to Timberbranch Parkway between Braddock Road and Oakley Place
11. Chinquapin Park at east end of loop road.
12. Area to east of entrance to Monticello Park (50ft by 200ft area).
13. Area to west of Edison Street cul-de-sac and between bike trail and Berkey Photo
Processing.
14. 200 ft W&OD Railroad right-of-way south of Raymond Avenue.

Alexandria Dog ParK Rules ...Do I get a pat on the back or what????

Dog Park/Exercise Area Rules

For the enjoyment of City residents and their dogs, the following rules apply at the Dog Parks and Exercise Areas:

All dogs must be under the owner's/handler's control.
Only three dogs per person (owner/handler) are allowed.
All dog handlers must have a leash in hand at all times.
No female dogs in heat are allowed.
Only dogs 4 months and older are allowed.
Dogs must be legally licensed, vaccinated and wearing both current tags.
Dog owners/handlers must keep their dog(s) in view at all times.
Any bite of a person or other dog must be immediately reported to Alexandria Animal Control and parties involved must wait for an officer to respond, except in the case where immediate medical care is needed.
Dogs must not be allowed to bark incessantly or to the annoyance of the neighborhood.
Dog owners/handlers must immediately pick up and dispose of, in trash receptacles, all dog feces.
Aggressive dogs are not allowed at any time. An aggressive dog is defined as a dog(s) posing a threat to human beings or other dogs. Owners(handlers) are legally responsible for their dog(s) and any injury caused by them. Dogs must be on leash when entering and exiting.
In addition to the above rules, the following applies at Fenced Dog Parks:
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult when inside a Fenced Dog Park.
Food is not allowed inside the Fenced Dog Park, nonalcoholic beverages are allowed.

Hi all! I live in Centreville, VA (near Dulles Airport) and would love to join the boxer bash! We usually go to a dog park in Oakton, VA (Vienna). It's nice because it's fenced (w/ double gates at the entrances), but the last time we were there, most of the grass was worn away so it would get pretty muddy if there is rain. There is also a dog park in Reston, VA. I'm not sure where exactly.... I've heard about it, but have never been there. I think there are also several dog parks in Arlington County, but we've never gone to any of those either.

Hi, this is Laurel, I missed this thread from before (I have too much work), but glad I didn't miss it. I now live in Charles Town, WV (the race track and near Harpers Ferry) - I would, and I know my boys would, love to come. Having lived in NoVA area 15 yrs before moving to WV I still have a lot of ties to the area, I still work in Tysons, family, etc. We've been before to the dog park in Oakton and my guys had fun so know they are cool with meeting up w/ new buddies in an enclosed area. We are happy traveling anywhere to meet up - it's kinda cool where live now because Annapolis is about 15 miles further than Alexandria for us now, but I don't care where I'm going, I just want to meet other boxer people and new friends for Max and Shay.

March 23 and 24th weekend is fine with me, I prefer Sundays but can have daughter make other arrangements for her volunteer work.

If there is anything anyone needs me do before then or check anything out, I'll be glad too.
