Nestled between the South River and Harness Creek, Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis offers a wide variety of family activities. Visitors can walk, jog, or bike on over 6 miles of scenic paved trails, play at the large multi-level children’s playground, enjoy the South River promenade and scenic overlook, or picnic among 336 acres of beautiful park land. Boat rental and ice-skating are available seasonally, and the park’s Visitor Center includes formal gardens, art galleries, and a café.

On Saturday, December 1, 2001, Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation & Parks opened the first Dog Park in Anne Arundel County at beautiful Quiet Waters Park. The new facility was opened by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by County Executive Janet Owens and Director of Recreation & Parks Dennis Callahan.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony dog demonstrations were held. Eight 2002 passes to Quiet Waters Park will be awarded to the best dressed dogs and to dogs that look most like their owners. Refreshments for dogs and their owners were served.
Dog Park Rules
Persons who choose to use the Dog Park as a condition of use agree to the following rules:
Anne Arundel County is not responsible for injuries to dogs, their owners/handlers, or others that use the Dog Park. This area is for dogs and their handlers/owners only.
Dogs must be on leash and under control by their owners/handlers at all times outside of the fenced Dog Park.
Dog owners/handlers must respect the rights of others to use this area by maintaining control of their pets at all times.
All dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, and collared-with identification.
Owners/handlers must remain inside, with leash, within view and voice control of their dog's at all times.
Owners/handlers must immediately clean up after their dog's and properly dispose of waste.
Limit of two dogs per adult.
Toddlers and infants are prohibited from entering the fenced dog park area. Older children must be accompanied by an adult, who is accountable for their behavior and well being.
Dogs in heat and puppies under 4 months of age are prohibited.
No smoking or food within fenced area (human or dog).
Dog park gates must be closed immediately after entering or exiting the facility.
Excessive barking is prohibited. Dogs barking excessively must be removed.
Dogs showing aggression toward people or other animals must be removed from the park.
Owners/handlers must stop their dogs from digging and immediately fill any holes dug.
Only flying disc and tennis ball type toys are permitted within fenced area.
Only small dogs and older dogs are permitted to use the small dog area.
