    Too old for crate training???

I've read on some of the threads that the crate shouldn't be too big. What size is right for a boxer. Baxter is 55 lbs. I was going to get a 42" but am now wondering if that is too big.

when u ask your buddy if he wants to go for a walk or for a ride does he...

Baxter just started to understand at about 6 1/2 months. He LOVES to go in the car and will sit and wiggle and wiggle until I get his leash on. Then he runs for the garage door. I am constantly amazed at how smart these dogs are! He also just started "protecting" us. He will start barking...

    Too old for crate training???

Baxter is 7 1/2 months old. He is a beautiful brindle and our second boxer. Our first baxter suffered from cardiomyopathy and left us a few years ago. We LOVE our second baxter---but he is soooo bad! When we leave for work we try to dog proof the house, but it is like he looks for things to...

    New Owner

You are going to LOVE your boxer!! We just got our second boxer a few weeks ago, a beautiful brindle named Baxter. Our first boxer died a few years ago--heart problem---and it took us a while to want to replace him. My husband always told our kids they were lucky the boxer didn't come first...

    Ankle Biter

You would think that at a year old the ankle would be a troublesome spot for the bigger dog. My first boxer would nip us in the butt when we walked away from him or tried to ignore him when he wanted to play. A nasty habit too, but funny as heck when you weren't the one getting nipped.

    Gotta go Gotta go

Thanks folks! Baxter does bark when he wants up on the bed or up on my lap(a feat that will be a bit awkward soon :D) S0---i guess i'll be patient and more observant. My last boxer barked when he had to go and I don't remember really having to do anything to make that happen. But they are all...

    Gotta go Gotta go

I'm new at this so I hope I am doing it right! My Baxter is 3 1/2 months old now. Potty training is slow, but steady. My question--when should my pup start letting me know he has to go??? Is there something I could be doing to teach him to let me know. Right now he understands when I tell...
