    Bad allergic reaction

regular vet's opinion Thank you for your good thoughts and hugs.... I just spoke to my wife again and our regular vet called to see how Lewis was doing and just to let us know that it was most likely a bee sting from their opinion. Appearantly it can take a couple of hours for the symptoms...

    Bad allergic reaction

Lewis was very restless last night starting around 2 AM, he kept fussing with his paws... Well finally at 3:30 I decided he must have to go outside. Well he was breathing a little funny, but I thought he was just tired but when he came back inside he was trying to rub his eyes. I had not...

    Licking Fits?

licking machine When we come home Lewis will try to lick us and will continuously lick the air for almost 5 minutes. He also feels that he needs to lick visitors constantly, it must be a common trait. My wife thinks we should have named him Licky-mick-LickerTON.

    Potty training in winter?

It does get better We live in Wisconsin and picked up Lewis the beginning of November. Well the last week is the first nice weather that we have experienced. He was almost completely potty trained at around 12 weeks, but then we had -20 degree temperatures and he really didn't think it was a...

Mabel was attacked by a Fisher cat

I'm glad that Mabel is doing ok. I grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin and fishers are quite common up there and I have seen a number of them in the woods. If you do a search on them they are actually able to catch a red squirrel in a tree and rabbits are there most common prey. I would have...

    Cool tricks?

In our dog training classes they are having a contest this week for the best trick that we can teach our dog. I feel this might be the one time that Lewis might be able to outperform his classmates (he might get most improved now that he isn't just trying to play the entire time). He picks...

    attacking the broom

and shovels too... Lewis loves to chase the broom, mop, but I think his very favorite is the snow shovel. He just loves chasing that thing around. I thought if I maybe let the snow fall out of the shovel on him it would discourage it, but now it is really a game so I always have help with...

"Shake" ...uh, I don't get it....!

shake Lewis picked up the shake by picking up his paw and shaking it. We would praise him right away and make a big production. We would then give him a jackpot (large treat)! We did that 4-5 times one night and the next morning we did it once and he has had it ever since. I think getting...

    Hi from Wisconsin

Welcome We have our first boxer as well. He is 5 1/2 months old now. I'm sure that he won't be really excited about going outside to go to the bathroom today with the weather that we are getting right now!

    Drinking A Lot!!

Lewis drinks a lot of water as well. Not always a good thing before bed time. If he drinks too much we know it will be time to get up for a trip outside during the middle of the night!

Im not sure why I buy toys...

bottles Lewis loves bottles as well. We have found that if we put two coins inside of the bottle (this has to be supervised to make sure he doesn't remove the top or start to break the bottle and create a potential choking hazard) he likes it even more. It does become very loud, but he plays...

    Hello from Wisconsin

We have a 4 month old fawn male. I have been on the site ever since we brought him home and finally took the time to sign on. I must say convincing him he should go outside to relieve himself was a little difficult when the temperatures dipped below zero, but we worked our way through it.
