    Another Question - Venison?

Well, it's been a while, but... It's been a while since I asked this question, and I still haven't started BARFing, but with Moe's allergies, and now living in a house with a yard, etc...I am SERIOUSLY researching and am definitely going to start soon. So, about the venison. When hunting...

    What did your boxer do?

When Mac was about 9 months old he ate my computer. LOL- not the whole thing, he chewed on the laptop, then somehow removed the CD drive and chewed it up. It was fun apparently. He also unwrapped and chewed all of the Christmas gifts I had bought his 1st year. BUT - my sisters dogs eat her...

    Suggestions for a 2nd dog

I have a boxer and an English bulldog. They get along great and the bullie is SUCH a lap dog. But they are still pretty big. So I would agree with a boston. My aunt has one, and he gets along great with Mac and Moe - super cute, and acts just like a boxer...and they come in brindle:) I am...

    Any non-snugglers out there ????

MacDougal will snuggle in bed...he curls right up against your legs or back...but the rest of the time, not so much. If we are on the couch, he is o his chair. He likes his space. Moe, on the other hand, I think is sometimes trying to meld as one with us. No matter where I am he hikes...

Boxers in shelters in canton and Tyler, TExas

A friend of mine lives in Texas and participates in Pitbull rescue. She jsut told me that she saw two boxers this week in shelters where she was pulling dogs. They were in Canton Shelter, Canton TX and Smith County Shelter, Tyler TX. I don't know enough about Texas to know what rescue...

    Making an area off limits?

JulieM - Thanks! Those will help me. And you understand perfectly why I am asking...even though my dogs don't USUALLY jump (90%), and dont USUALLY (90% for Mac, 60% for Moe the untrainable...lol) sneak out the door, I think the extra precaution will help some.

Basak, I am so sorry! I didn't mean to remind you and upset you. I questioned whether I should ask...:( Kimberly

    Making an area off limits?

Basak - thanks for the help. Let me ask you...when I was last here (a year or so again, more or less) you were considering gettign a girl boxer from your local vet. What happened with/to her? Just curious:) Sullivanspop - re: the baby gate, lol MacDougal acts like those aren't even there...

    Making an area off limits?

They actually don't jump on people...Mac is more a wiggle at your feet type. So I worded that wrong. LOL And I have taught Mac to sit and stay at the door before I let him out. But I kind of thought that since there is that visible boundary area, it would be helpful and reinforcing to keep...

    Making an area off limits?

In our (very little) house, there is a 6x6 foot tiled "foyer area" at the front door. The rest of the living room is carpeted. I have been thinking that if I could train my dogs they can not go into that area without a leash it would help with a lot of our issues (sneaking out, jumping guests...

    Saying "HI" Again

Hey Ashlie - I am actually just starting - just got my card that allows me to do it, but I am hoping for high school mainly. I am also applying for a teaching certificate, but even though I qualify for one with my Bachelors I am not sure if I would actually get HIRED! So, we'll see...

    Re-introducing Mac and Moe

I was a member here for about a year and a half, then forgot what my EMAIL address was so I couldn't get on for the last 6months or more. Just wanted to say HI to everyone who joined after I left! I have missed this place. I have 1 Boxer, MacDougal. He is a 2 year old neutered fawn boy. And...

Might have to leave my boy for 3 weeks

I am going to leave Mac for SEVEN weeks! I am so sad about it, but this is SUCH a great opportunity I can't say no. My mom offered to send me to Europe with my sister for 7 weeks, and well... I just hope my boyfriend (Mac's daddy) will take as good care fo him as I do. I know he loves him...

    Your Boxers Sweet Spot!?

I didn't think Mac had one. My sis's dog does, Moe does. But not Mac. Finally about a month ago I was driving in the car and started just softly rubbing my fingertips, not nails, on the top of his head. His eyes closed and he was so cute. Every since then...it is magic!
