Very good info! thanks! when he was on blue buffalo he would get terrible ear infections and very itchy skin. I've got some of his old food California Natural Herring & Sweet Potato in case his chest gets worse or any of the other symptoms appear.
He is not itching his chest, paws are not red, ears and eyes look really good, and stools are very firm. We are going to continue trying the switch to CORE and watching for all the symptoms of food allergies.
We've been taking some off leash walks lately in some wild grass/tree areas. I...
We started last Tuesday slowly transitioning him over to CORE and last nite (Friday) we noticed red bumps on his chest. Could this be an allergic reaction to the food?
I feed EVO treats. Same ingredients as the food minus a couple of things I can remember off the top of my head. The only thing I don't like about them is they are very small, but are great when training.
Well I went to the local Pet Supplies Plus and decided to go with the CORE Ocean formula because of the lower protein content. I figured it would be a better transition to the high protein diet as opposed to EVO. Hopefully he does well on this food for a couple of months so I can try other...
Thanks for the quick response!
Right now on Cali. Natural Bentley does 2 cups in the morning and 2 in the evening. I know with higher protein foods the recommended feeding is less.
Which CORE are you feeding the original or ocean? And how much are you feeding your male?
Bentley (60lb. male) will be 17 months on May 16 and has been doing very well on California Natural Herring & Sweet Potato. We also give him EVO treats and he absolutely loves them.
I'm thinking of switching over to a higher protein food possibly Wellness Core Ocean, Original EVO or EVO Red...
Come to think of it when we first met Bentley he was only 2 weeks old eyes were barely open and looked like a big fat gerbil. He was on top of the pile of his brothers and sisters. Out of a litter of 10 he was the only one we picked up and held that didn't whimper or cry. We brought him home...
Everyone I know w/ a boxer says their boxers are just out of control and hyper and are continually seeking attention. Bentley on the other hand is as gentle as can be. When guest come over to the house he does the typical boxer greet, he's all over them, wiggles his butt, and the pretzel shape...
Well we picked him up a filet and took your advice dharmadoodle and lightly cooked it. He had a nice rare steak. He didn't even hesitate to eat it. I think I'm going to look more into the raw diet for him instead of commercial food.
Thanks
Bentley's 1 year birthday is coming up on the 16th and was wondering if giving him a small raw steak filet be a good idea? Could it cause any issues? He has been on dry kibble since we got him and he has never ate anything raw.
Thanks
I use California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato by Natura same makers of Innova and the only thing I notice was the bag change and the sign I saw was their food is melamine and ethoxiquin free. Innova is also coming out w/ a red meat version. I checked their website and nothing has changed...
Bentley my 11 month old was on Blue Puppy Chicken and Rice since he was 7 weeks old. His stools would range from firm to soft then runny. We figured typical puppy stools so we never switched. The last bag we bought the kibble was lighter in color than past bags. Bentley developed the runs...
I just moved Bentley my 11 month old over to California Natural Lamb and Rice. He was on Blue Buffalo since we brought him home at 7 weeks, and the last bag we got from them we noticed the kibble was lighter in color than past bags. He developed bad gas and the runs. We did a 10 day...
