Everyone I know w/ a boxer says their boxers are just out of control and hyper and are continually seeking attention. Bentley on the other hand is as gentle as can be. When guest come over to the house he does the typical boxer greet, he's all over them, wiggles his butt, and the pretzel shape we all love. As long as they greet him he'll come down and won't bother them with toys or anything. If we take him to local dog parks he has just as much energy and play fullness as the other boxers. He gets daily walks and runs at least 30min. to a hour a day. He's just has a very calm temperament.

I was just wondering does anyone else have what I like to call a very "chill" boxer?

Disco is like that for the most part. She has her wild moments, but she's very chill, too. Which is good, because Rowdy is the exact opposite, he always has to be doing something.

calm boxer

Sheba is calm as long as I take her out and exercise her for an hour or 2. She gets worked up around the kids. If it's just me and the baby home she's great. The only 2 things she does that drives me nuts is she likes to jump on me when I'm sitting on the couch or feeding the baby and she likes to bite when she gets worked up. She only does this if the kids are home though. I don't know why. She's only 13 weeks old so I attribute most of this behavior to being a puppy. I hope she out grows this. Other than those two things she is the perfect dog. She is so sweet and loving and I think she is just beautiful little thing I've ever seen. I worry about her though since I got her from a byb(I didn't find this site until after I got her and I would never give her up) Sorry I got tottaly off topic!!

Daizy is 7mo old now and she is still VERY calm. She loves to gives kisses and does the kidney bean alot, but it's still an extremely chill version from what I've seen in others. She's perfectly happy being a lap dog. I think it's because she spends a couple of hours every day in the fenced yard. She can burn all she wants back there!

Casey's like that too. He gets all excited when he meets new people and he went totally crazy playing with my brother's dog this weekend, but when it's just the two of us, he spends most of his time sitting on the couch or the bed.

Brewski is 4 months and he is either going 100 mph or asleep. There's really no in between for him. I hope with time he will calm a little. Oh and if he sees anyone(human or dog) I think he is going to pull my arm off. Heaven help me when he gets bigger. But he is very funny so it's worth it, but I'm not sure the cats would agree.

Roxie of course has her moments (when people come over or when you go outside to play) however she is perfectly content laying on the bed or couch with her mommy and daddy. She is such a good dog!

When I met Delilah at 9 wks at the breeder she sat in my lap for 45 minutes after a very enthusiastic greeting. She has remained pretty mellow, for a Boxer, ever since. I'm a couch potato and so is she!!!!

Come to think of it when we first met Bentley he was only 2 weeks old eyes were barely open and looked like a big fat gerbil. He was on top of the pile of his brothers and sisters. Out of a litter of 10 he was the only one we picked up and held that didn't whimper or cry. We brought him home at 8 weeks and kennel trained him and he didn't really cry at all either. He has just been a very calm guy.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one with a calm boxer!

My Lily is 18 mos and she is pretty chill. She can laze around like no other. When she is stir crazy, she drives me crazy! She doesn't get the excercise she should have, but she does well with it.

It depends who she is hanging with too. If she is with Buster, who is the calmest boy around, she is totally chilled out. But if she is hanging with my pit, then they are both crazy with energy. Can't leave them home alone for any length of time.
