Dana, I am so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Zeus. Try not to be too hard on yourself, we all go through a phase of second guessing, guilt, and anger. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It is so hard to say goodbye to our babies, know that you did everything you could have to help your boy get through this all. You gave him a wonderful, loving home with lots of hugs and kisses I'm sure, what more could a big Boxer boy ask for?

Zues is playing with my Daysha at the bridge, we just lost her 10 days ago and I miss her dearly but I know that her pain is over and she is playing with all of those Boxer babies.

I've never felt so lost or crushed as I do now. We are now second guessing everything - wondering if we never should have put him through either surgery, if he has been suffering since. Were we just being selfish? The guilt is overwhelming.

My deepest sympathies on your loss of Zeus. My heart aches for you.

Please know that we all experience a certain amount of guilt when we loose one of our loved ones. We begin to second guess our every move. The what ifs, should haves, could haves and would haves can drive us crazy. But let's focus on what we do know. We do know that you love Zeus and that each and every decision you made on his behalf was out of love. Truthfully, there isn't anything more Zeus could have asked for.

I pray that in time you will find peace and can begin to heal. Hugs to you and your family.

Godspeed Zeus Please don't feel guilty or 2nd guess anything that you've done. You were trying to do what you thought was right for Zeus, and you were giving him the love and care that he wanted and needed. Zeus is no longer suffering, and is running free at the Bridge. I know you are feeling all tore up inside, and this will heal with time...turn to Stormy, she needs you now and she will help ease your pain. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am sitting here reading your post with tears running down my face as I, too, know how you feel as it has only been a year since we had to let our baby go also. I am so sorry for your loss, it seems that boxers are so much like people that when we lose them it is like losing a real member of the family and by that I mean skin. It is so hard to get by after losing one of these fantastic dogs and 15 months is WAY too young. Godspeed Zeus...

OMGosh:( I'm soo sorry to hear about Zeus. I hope you find peace within. All of us who have lost one of our babies knows all to well, the guilt that comes along with it. To this day I feel guilt, but I can tell you that time heals your heart and your pain.
