It's heartbreaking to lose a loved one and especially like that. our thoughts and prayers are with you. The best advice I can give you is to take time to grieve. Share your thoughts with a loved one and deal with this loss as you need to. I miss my Bogey more than the day we lost her and it has been almost 3 weeks. Maybe her and Zaeda are misbehaving at the bridge waiting for us!!

I am very sorry for your loss, as a young teen I had to witness my dog being struck by a car, and the vision still haunts me to this day. My heart breaks for you. I am glad you got another addition, hopefully it will help ease your pain. Can I ask why you decided to get another so sudden? I guess everyone is different, I just could not imagine myself doing the same, I would constantly be comparing the two!

Well, at first I was not too thrilled about the idea. I just couldn't picture another dog in my life. But husband thought it would be a good idea and I knew it would really help him out so I said ok. I will tell you that having Zeus has helped alot more than I thought it would. We do sometimes have to deal with comparing the 2 but we just let him be who he is and never forget Zaeda. Thank you all for your kind words.

Such a sad story. Im so sorry for your loss. I myself am still grieving at the loss of my buddy just 5 weeks ago and the pain is still pretty intense. Ive contemplated getting another angel, but I cant just yet. Im sure I will in due time. Its amazing what joy and laughter these silly/wonderful dogs bring to us all. There were times I never laughed so hard, as I did when I was w/ my Harley. I cant wait to laugh like that again In the meantime, it's good that you have Zeus to help pull you through this tough period. Godspeed Zaeda!!!! I hope you and Harley and all the other boxer babies at the Bridge are having a jolly ole time!

I have lost several precious furkids over the years, most to old age and illness. One will never replace another -- they all have their own unique personalities. But I cannot imagine life not shared with animals, so my home is always filled with dogs and cats, young and old, and the sweet memories of those at the bridge.

Something that may help both you and Zeus is for you to talk to Zeus about Zaeda. They are, in a way, "siblings". Zeus probably senses the loss, but has no idea what was lost. Sharing your love for Zaeda with Zeus may also strengthen your bond with Zeus.
