I just wanted to thank everyone for their excellent ideas and support. I will be getting this tattoo within the next month or so and do believe it will be either on my thigh or lower back. I will post pics as soon as it's done.

I have one, its a front view of Jake. I think its a good idea, I love mine, even my mom who was against me getting a tattoo loves it... I'm sure u will love yours!!

My son went and got a tattoo on his shoulder of Riley. he took in a photo and they did just a head shot only with Rileys name underneath .. He did it while Riley was sick at the Vet Hospital.. It actually turned out very nice and looks just like him.. and I like it much better then a couple of his others tattoos choices <G> this was his 4th tattoo and since We lost our RileyBoy it was a very nice memorial to him.. it was my sons way of showing how much he loved him... Maybe I can post a picture of it..

PS my two cents worth As a Mom though I'll admitt I never wanted my skin baby to get his first tattoo.. but I also know when they turn into Adults it is their choice not mine .. I remember My Dad having a total fit about me piercing my ears.. Now days what havent they pierced .. and some Tattoos are really very beautiful.. <LOL> I'm just not getting any .. I'll admire others..

Hey Jen, Go for it... I thought that a tat would hurt really bad. and My fiance talked me inot to goin' into a studio and looking arround while i was there i ended up getttin' my ladybug tat... It felt like a bad sunburn for the furst few days then itched a lil bit and is all healed up now.. It's been 2 wks and i am already planning on gettin' another one..... I would say don't get it on the shoulder that's a place for guys to get a tat.. most women get there's on there ankles or lower back.... mine is about 6 inches up on my left leg.. I wanna see the result when ya get it done... Good luck....

I say go for it!!! Just remember, they are addicting.
(I got my first tattoo when I was 18, then my next 3 for my 21st birthday, and I got my latest one at the trun of the year.)
I thought about getting a picture of my Coal on my shoulder, but I finally decided that I was just going to get a paw print with COAL written out in the toes instead.

Jen: I posted a picture of My sons tattoo of Riley in my gallery you can go check it out if you'd like.. he said it didn't hurt.. but I'm not going to try it..I'm a chicken... I'll still be content with keeping Rileys memory in my heart and by having lots of photos to look at when ever I want..and Steven will keep him forever in his heart and on his shoulder..<G> I think that the tattoo artisit did a pretty good job from just looking at a photo and then doing it free hand.

I'd love to see others boxer tattoos.. if any one wants to post some..
