How Joey got his name

When me and my husband met we watched Friends all the time and we both like Joey~~"how you doing..?"~~ and the name fits him! just like Joey on Friends he always makes us laugh:p

We got our boxers name on the way home from picking him up. It was at least a 2-1/2 hour drive and at first we had no clue what to name him just kept throwing names out. Finally we passed a gas station sign that said "Diesel" and since he had been passing gas all the way home it just kinda stuck.

The name really suits him!! haha

We named our female Pénéloppe because she has a P on the neck, as you can see on this picture:

Igor, we named him with a russian name because Alexandra, from Euro-Boxer, who has imported him for us, is from Russia. Igor, because my boyfriend loves hockey!

My hudband actually named them all and I liked them so...

If we got a boy after Clarice I wanted to call him Hannibal.. for obvious reasons (but we got another girl).

Morpheus is from the Matrix movies. The powerful, wise fearless leader(and I just love the name). I found out a little later, Morpheus is the greek god of sleep and dreams. He is a very deep sleeper and vivd dreamer- so it fits.

Morpheus Evander is his full name. Evander- as in Holyfeild, a great boxer.

Sending a hello out to Tank...Tank and (Dozer) what great names.

Gunner, fawn w/ black mask boy, was already named by his previous owners when we got him.. it suits him though.. pretty cool name.

Quinsi, pure white boy... his full name is Equinsu-Ocha, which comes from the 2nd Ace Ventura movie and means "White Devil".. we were watching that movie once and when the tribe members started calling Ace Ventura "Equinsu-Ocha" I looked at my hubby and said "when we get our white boxer.. we should name him that and call him Quincy for short!" .. except we spell it Quinsi, to match better with his full name... :D

I have no idea where I got Mason's name from ( I am suprised to see that I wasn't as original as I thought as I see that at least two other people have boxers named Mason). I had a week or so to think about it cuase I bought him before he was ready to come home. I was going to go with Monty but when I picked him up I said "you look like a Mason". I had never heard this name before so I have no clue how I came up with it.

My husband wanted to name our new white boxer pup Arwen after his fave movie/book LOTR so we did. The first night we had her I woke up and had the name "Aspen" in my mind. I won out so her name is Aspen!

All of our pets have been named by my husband. My husband is an illustrator and loves comic books and other art. Our boxer mix (Kirby) is named after Jack Kirby (artist/writer?) and Ramona (my boxer girl) is named after another artist. Our cats are named Big Guy and Rusty after a comic book.

The breeder originally named our fur-baby "Twinkle" as one eye has a brindle spot on it and the eye is brown, and the other eye is naked and is blue so it looks like she has a twinkle in one eye. Very cute name, very appropriate, but as Darren claimed "a little whimpish" After immense discussion and thought we decided to go the "boxer" route and named her Tunney after the championship boxer from the 1920's Gene Tunney. He was the very first boxer to retire while still being the champ. The name Tunney suits her, Darren usually calls her "tons O' fun" and thats exactly what she is!! We have yet to officially give her a registered name... we can't decide on one. The breeders have chosen the word "light" to be in all Tunney's littermates registered names.. if anyone has any suggestions we would be more than happy to hear them.
