This is such a fun thread.........

Joey was named when we adopted him and since he had been in the shelter for over 6 months, we thought he was used to his name and were hesitant to change it.

Wizard got his name because when we got him he wasnt neutered yet (he was a stray that came into the shelter where I work) and he wizzed on everything and also because Joey hates most other dogs but Wizard must have some special magic because Joey seems to not just tolerate him, but actually enjoy being around him.:D

My eldest girl, Belle's name was originally inspired by the first boxer I met, hence transmitting that horrible disease, Boxer Fever to me! She was called Rebelle which is french for rebel. She belonged to someone who worked next door to where I did at the time, and was there every day. I decided I HAD to have one just like her, so when I got my first girl, Rebelle it was..officially at least. ;) Shortened to Belle for 2 reasons..it means pretty or beautiful, and I'm a Disney fanatic..Belle is the princess in Beauty and the Beast.

Copper's name reflects is coppery fawn colour, and is keeping with the Disney theme as well - from the Fox and the Hound. I had been toying with all sorts of big strong sounding names, but when I first set eyes on him as a 4 week old pup, no other name fit him like Copper did. Ironically, he wooo wooo's just like Copper in the movie LOL.

Holly, our most recent addition to the family just 2 weeks ago was a surprise christmas present from my husband. I hadn't even had time to think about a name for her in advance, but a friend of ours suggested to my husband that we call her Holly, to reflect the festive occasion. When Mark suggested it to me, I took a look at her and decided it was perfect.

Cheers,
Lori

Super Boo

Completely Boxer Crazy
We named Boo, Boo, because at that time, all of my animals were nicknamed "Boo" and it just came naturally. That and the fact that my Parrot loves to scream Boo (which was a crackup until Boo learned to ignore him).

We named Skye because the day we picked him up from the breeder was the worst of the California fires day. The sky was a brilliant red/brown all the way down to San Diego. The same color as Skye.

When we went to pick up our first boxer, I told my husband & son, lets wait to name the puppy. Needless to say they were calling her Lady before we pulled out of the driveway! Her registered name was Miss Ladybug. Lady really fit her because she was very dignified.

The boxer we have now we saw when she was just 3 weeks old. So we had a long time to pick out her name before she came home. My son suggested Lola after the bulldog on the Osbournes TV show and it stuck. Her registered name is Whateverlolawants.

We didn't name Joe because he was a year old when he got him. His name is Tojo but neither my husband nor I liked that name so it was shortened to Joe. Of course, most of the time I call him "mama's sweet wittle boy." :p

This is so cool hearing how everyone named their fur babies!

I got Mason when I was still dating my ex. We had picked him out when he was only a few days old so we had a while to pick out his name. Everything he liked I hated and vice versa. One day we were sitting on the couch and I said Mason - as soon as I said it I thought he'd hate and he looked at me and said that's perfect. So we had a name to bring him home with!

Rocky was a name that was on our "list". Rocky because my BF loves wrestling and The Rock is one of his favorites, and well, I think he's gorgeous, lol. Anyway, when we first saw him we thought.. perfect! His markings and personality just seem to fit. His registered name is: Rockwell's Primitive Behavior. Primitive because although he is very smart he can be stubborn at times, sometimes when I see he and my BF playing together they look very primitive, lol. So yeah, his name really suits him

GEORGE
We named our boxer George for several reasons, 1st being about 8 or 9 years ago ther was an advert on itv for i think was colemans mustard (correct me if im wrong) that starred a boxer called george, and i wanted one ever since, when ever i saw a boxer it was a george doggy. 2nd reason my mum has a parrot called zippy (so were just needing a bungle) and 3rdly it was the middle name of my husbands younger brother. :(

HARLEY:

Our boys name was choosen as I decided to sell my Harley Davidson Fatboy motorbike (it was safer this way) and the money recieved went to purchasing our little boy and all the necessary doggie goodies.

He brings us just as much enjoyment.
