We named Layla our boxer after the female boxer Layla Ali and Sumo well look at her in my gallery she is the bulldog.. It just fits her...her full name is Sumo Tusunami Pudge... Sumo chunky wrestler-Tusunami b/c she runs full force at you and then rolls over kind of like a wave breaking at your feet and Pudge cause she has alot of rolls..

My older boxer is Canyon we drove about 3hrs to get him and thought of names the whole way home.
My pups name is Falcor. He is white and looks like the luck dragon from the never ending story. So thats what we called him.

Our baby's name is Lily, which took a long time to come up with, since my hubby didn't like any of my suggestions! He finally decided to name her after the Who song, 'Pictures of Lily'.

I named my first boxer Tequila Mockingbird (my favorite book too Zannie!!!!), and called her Quila for short. I also had a boxer named Atticus, also from To Kill A Mockingbird.

I was hoping to name Lily Scout instead, but he would have nothing to do with it. Lily does fit her pretty well though

Tyson- black mask little boxer baby....

Gabe- when I saw him in the shelter being dropped off as a stray, he was so sickly--only 37lbs and I thought for sure he wasn't going to make it. We grabbed him and on the way to the vet, he cuddled with my sister in the back of my car and licked her all over...a little angel....hence the name Gabriel, the angel. PLUS now that he's healthy and getting treated for Valley Fever, he's my little baby...Gabey Baby....

Mason- came to me as a wonderfully silly 4 month old who was banned to the outdoors because he jumped around too much...the owners used to call him Pinchu (GAG ME) and he was just so cute that by the time I left their house, I knew he had to be a soap-opera-sounding-name---Mason fits him perfectly!

I wanted my Dogs names to stand out which is not an easy thing in my family. I have 4 skinkids whose names are Kyrie (cure-E), Mataya (ma-tie-ya), Myridian (merridian) and Taylen (like it is spelled) so as you can see the "unusual" names are taken so I figured I would just name them normal kids names (have always liked to name my furbabies "human names") so that they would stand out from my skin kids Hence Tanner Jay and Rachel Lee!!!!

Well with Rocky's name is serves a number of purposes. His fathers name was Rocky(I named his father and mother as his parents belonged to myself and my ex(who took them)) and his mothers name was Roxxanne or Roxy for short. My husband LOVES th Rocky movies so of course Rocky just seemed to fit. All of our fosters that have come in we have went with the same movie them. Mic, Drago, Paulie, Apollo, Creed.

Katie our English Bulldog came with the name.
Callie our cat(long haird calico) was named because shes a calico
Crush our Pitt Bull was named after the Turtle on Finding Nemo(I LOVE that movie)

We bought Trooper from a county police officer and on the drive home I saw a Trooper SUV and thought it was the perfect name for our Baby, especially since the father's name was Bandit. With his fawn and white markings, Trooper looks like all he needs is one of those patrole hats. He's always on duty... checking out every noise he thinks he hears :D.

Kona's name came from when I use to be a mountain bike rider. Oddly a few years later my husband and I fell in love with Kona Hawaii and are planning a move there. Unfortunatly Kona passed away this month. Kona also means Lady in Hawaiian. Which as a little girl I named every dog I had Lady. Purly accidental Funny how things work out.

Lady was my first dog's name as a little girl :cool:

7 Years ago we had a flashy fawn boy whose dad was named Cash, and we called him Tango (like Tango & Cash in the movie).

With Jazz, as a rescue she came to us already called Harper, but we have a cat named Parker and this was adding confusion to the very ticked off cat's life (we forgot to ask her if it was OK to bring a boxer home).

I love names like PUNCH, ROCKY etc. for boxers because they just fit!

all in a name

We decided on Dexter because it was one of the nerdiest names we could think of....but you look and there stands this beatuiful muscular animal that looks like he's gonna kick your butt but once approached turns into a sweetie that just wants to give kisses!

His AKC name is Sir Dexter of Chaos.....it ties into 2 places. Chaos is his Daddy's name.....and our life is sometimes quite chaotic and we are his loyal servants!!!
