My boyfriend and I were on dogbreedinfo.com one time just to see all the "new breeds" so we thought up a great name-game to play (of course, totally making fun of it all). "What do you get when you cross a...." for instance, our favorite is a shitzu and a poodle (take the first syllable of each name and combine). HAHAHA, as you can see, we had great fun for hours with this. I was crying I was laughing so hard by the time we were done.

Then again, this must just prove our maturity levels - it's like reverting back to the preteen years when making someone say a "bad word" was great fun.
 I think you have to regress in maturity sometimes! It keeps me somewhat "sane" at least.

I guess they're talking about the sketches you do when you're bored. I amuse myself, but seriously, I saw that today too. And I too was like WTF? Since when are there "designer dogs"? I was talking about this subject the other day with my boss who breeds Golden Retrievers, people will breed anything to make a new trend, or a quick buck. Just my thoughts.
I believe you are right about the quick buck and I am with sidhewlf on the fact that these dogs are not bred for any specific purpose other than to be "toys". While the names are quite amusing, I think there are enough breeds and mixes in the world already that we could have done without the "doodles"!!!

ok so i was looking at the same site u all were for the Boxerdoodle(god i feel retarded for typing the nameLOL)

and i saw this:
BOXERDOODLES Dusty, the apricot STANDARD POODLE sire, and Layla, the BLACK/WHITE(RARE!) Boxer will be the dam.

BLACK/WHITE(RARE!) Boxer

so not only are they breeding mutts and passing them off as "purebred" but they arnt even using a boxer?

correct me if im wrong but Black is not a Boxer "color" right?

Nope no Black Boxers unless it was a dark reverse brindle and they're too stupid to know about that, which goes back to WTF are they doing to start with! on the bright side it does make me feel a little better that some of the Boxerdoodles (shudder!) aren't really Boxers at all if they are from black faux Boxers! I saw what those horrid animals look like. They look like a scruffed up version of a Boxer, who would ever want that? I for one like the tight coat. Those things look like they need to go to the groomers! :(

WOW!! OMG, i knew that they were breeding puggles and labradoodles and such but come on, BOXERDOODLES??? give me a break. I looked on that one website and i am amazed on how disgusted i am with all the mixed breeding that they are doing, and selling them of all things. enough is enough already, i agree, go to the pound if you want mixed breed. Some people have no clue about anything.

I wish there was something that we could do but it's probably too far gone now.

Isn't this the same sort of thing as miniature Boxers? Some people have more money than brains...hate it for 'em

You're right - he is cute. As are labradoodles - but there has got to be a limit to all this craziness! I mean really! If a person wants a mixture between two breeds, go to the shelter!!!

That's what's so sad about the whole doodle craze. You can find those exact mixes (some now who have even been bred by doodle "breeders") in shelters.
But people still fork over the money for a puppy because they want to be a part of the latest craze. It's fine for clothing and accessories to be in the fashion spotlight but when it expands to include living beings, it's crossed a very dangerous line.
