That's GREAT news! Congratulations! I tell you, we love our Dieter to death, but next time around, we'll be adopting an older dog. Dieter was about one when we got him and boy, what a handful (he still is)! Best of luck with the new addition to your family -- he sounds like a perfect fit! What good news to start the morning! Congratulations! Can't wait to see pics of Bubba in his new forever home.

We adopted Pete in August,'03, and the main requirement was cat tolerance without chasing first. The rescue did not disappoint us. Pete is interested in Pinky and has chased only twice, both times she started it. That's fair game. I can't thank the rescue enough for allowing Petey to come into our life. He's been such a joy. And at 6 years, I'm sure Bubba is well behaved and potty trained and ready to please. Enjoy your new boy.

Congratulations on getting Bubba soon! Don't worry about him being 6 yrs. old. My 6 yr. old is plenty fiesty and playful!! Plus, she has to keep Beau in line, so she has a full-time job!

Thanks, everyone! There were a couple of younger dogs that may have been a good match, but they were a bit more rambunctious. This will be our first dog and we're gone for much of the day. I didn't want to set us (and the dog) up for failure. Bubba seems perfect for us & I hope to have him in our family for a long time

YAY! That's pretty much where I am at also. I had put in 2 applications with another rescue and had not heard anything in 5 months. After some internet searching I have found a wonderful rescue that I have filled out my application and sent in. I have to set up my home inspection and take a trip to VA to check out the beautiful boy I have my eye on. The lady I am in contact with for the rescue is absolutely wonderful and has been very helpful and encouraging. 110 % honest about the dog and has really given me new hope. (my boyfriend had been so tired of my frustration with the other rescue, he was ready to take me out to buy a puppy - eeks!) Good luck, I wish you the best!!!

Congrats, Paula! I just went on SCBR's website (it's on my favorites list) and saw Bubba. What a cutie!! I adopted my boy from SCBR in January of this year. They are a great rescue group! Looking forward to hearing stories about Bubba.

Ooooooooohhh, we got him! He's just great, I can't believe how well-behaved he is. He knows sit, down & stay & walks pretty good on a leash (pulls a bit at the start, but then he settles down.)

He's fine in the crate (after whining for about 5 minutes) and there have been no accidents in the house. No chewing on things or barking either, he doesn't jump on anyone (unless you tell him to) and he loves to walk & play & cuddle! He is curious about the cats (who are REALLY pissed that he's there) but not aggressive at all.

We're a bit concerned that he's overweight (he gained some while in foster & he's up to 81 pounds!) and his front left leg is bothering him (arthritis.) A few skin tags too (one is pretty large & unattractive, it's right on his chest. I'm afraid it may catch on something & start bleeding.) He'll be at the vet next week for the once-over.

I'm not on my home computer, so I can't upload to the gallery right now. I'll put up some pics this weekend! I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
