Well, here goes.
We left buddy at a kennel for the first time last weekend.
My husband agreed to let the guy feed him his diet and I knew better but didnt want to argue with the hubby, but again I knew better. So anyway we pick buddy sunday evening and hes a little thinner and has the runs, and is acting a little mad at us.
Ok, so sunday and monday he just layed around and drank a lot of water like he was dehydrated, but seemed to be ok.
Tuesday morn I get up at 6 am and notice that buddy isnt at the end of my feet on the bed as usual, hes curled up in the corner on a pillow next to my nightstand, I ask him if he needs to go potty and didnt get a response so I petted him and he just layed there so I took my shower and got dressed and asked him again if he needed to go but still no response so I thought man he just must be really tired, I knew that first time a kennel must have been stressful. Well when it was time to leave for work i wanted him out of my room cause I close all doors when gone. Well he wouldn't come out,, I had my son try and he ended up picking him up and carring him to livingroom, with buddy growling the whole time,,, I like man he is in pain, so I try to bribe him to get up with doggie treats and still nothing he wouldn't move. so me and my son take him to the vets 8 o'clock sharp, they ask questions like any new pestisides used anything differant , and only thing i could think of was the kennel, but didnt mention the food cause didnt think but did mention the runs, he said probably stress, anyway they wanted to keep him and do blood work, and called about an hour later and asked about ticks,, I said yes ok, the 8th thrusday my husband pulled off a 2 ticks off of buddys belly area,
well this is the first this season, he had maybe 3 or 4 last year we dont really have a prob. with ticks anyway so the vet said they checked his prostate, colon and other things and didnt find anything then his blood test showed high white blood cells, so he thought that he had lyme disease, but everything i asked him if lyme d. caused crippling like that he never really said yes. anyway they kept him over night and started aniboitics and we picked him up next day and he was all better, ( we did visit 2 the day before) I cant go with out seeing my baby, the weekend was hard enough. today he back to complete normal, anyway i was talking to guy at work who has had boxers before and said that one time he feed his boxer deer meat and cause (spelling) pancritis. and he had buddy's same symtoms, so does anyone know if the vet is just crazy, how can he just get all better from lyme D. and i didnt know that lyme D. caused crippling like that. sorry this is so long.
