I'd like to hear from other members about all the weird things their boxers have done!

Scrappy has opened an upstairs window(during a period of seperation anxiety while I was at the grocery store) He got through the blinds, poked out the screen, jumped out onto the eve and climbed onto the ROOF OF THE HOUSE! Fire dept and animal control told me to get a ladder an carry the 72lb dog down. No way! A neighbor helped me bring him back inside through a different window where the eve was not so steep!

Scrappy, tired of that, proceded to hide my shoes so that I had to find them before I went to work. I found them in all kinds of interesting places such as window sills, under guest beds, in the cats bed.

Once the seperation anxiety was much better, he showed his love by bringing my favorite boots next to my favorite chair all lined up and ready to wear!

One of the weird things that comes to mind is when it's eating time. Chief's very first bite, he spits the pieces all across the floor and walks around and eats them. But it's only the first bite! The rest he gobbles from the dish! I've never quite figured out his reasoning! But then again do we ever?

Eating Food

Edgar spits out the first few bites of food and just lets kibble fall out randomly and drop out as he walks across the kitchen floor. So far he has not climbed out on the roof or opened any doors and windows.

Hank has a couple of crazy things he does. One of them is when we go to my mom's he just can't figure out who that other dog is in the mirror. He proceeds to bark at him, sniff him, turn and jump at him. All he knows is that the other dog in the mirror is mocking him and that just makes him crazier!
Also EVERY time he goes to poo, he comes running up his NASCAR track (our stairs) and goes to the bedroom, back down and up again all the while doing his infamous Boxer burnin'. It's like he has made the biggest accomplishment in the world. I guess in his mind he has! LOL!

Rocky is our escape artist. He has gone through 4 window screens, 1 glass window and a hotel door that he opened. The windows were up at home and he escaped after we left, needless to say if the weather is nice and windows are open he goes in the kennel.

When Rocky was about a year and a half we were doing go kart racing with our son on several national circuits. We always took him with us out of town on the weekends for 3-4 days at a time and stayed in hotels. After getting rained out one night we left Rocky at the hotel for 30 minutes to run and get a pizza, got back and the door to the hotel room was wide open. We found him in a nearby field next to a drainage pond. :( Which was located next to a busy 4 lane highway. Talk about luck! We were all yelling for him and trying not to cry until we found him. This was the first time that we ever left him alone and didn't have his kennel. Now it goes with us wherever we go on trips! Even in the camper!

can't dog proof the drawers or cabinets

We bought a bread maker and made fresh bread one night. We put it in the bread drawer and when we came home the bread was gone and the bag was on the floor.

We put in child proof locks that require you to open the drawer a touch and then push down a lever to open the drawer. Foiled again!!

We now have childproof locks that require a magnet to get it open. Fortunately, they have not removed the drawer front.

other funny thing - We have come home to find toys in the sink, on top of the fridge and on top of the entertainment center.

Abbie also spits out her food, just the first couple of bites or if something catches her attention while she is eating, out comes the food that is in her mouth. Also, she spins in circles as you get her food ready and she is so excited you would think she is starving but if you try to hand her a piece of kibble, she takes it but spits it out and when she spits stuff out, it goes halfway across the room. She also gives you presents (anything in reach as long as she cam pick it up) when she gets excited. Other than that I can't think of anything else.

Brady opens all the doors in the house. Figures out how to stretch tall enough to get his cuz off of our huge side by side fridge. You can put anything else up there and he wouldn't think of touching it, a steak or anything. You put his cuz up there and he will get it down as soon as you turn your back. I also find toys in high place and think Brady is the culprit as he likes to shake his toys.

I have also had to install child proof locks on the cabinets. They both use to open the cupboards and get the kids junk food out!!

Buckeye likes for me to throw the first couple pieces of food so he can chase them but then he eats the rest normal.

Steeler likes to sit directly infront of me turn his head to the right and wait for me to hug him. If I dont he will not move until I do!!!!

Milo takes all his toys to the carpet, puts them in a circle, takes turns playing with each and jumps around the circle like a bunny

weird things

Don't know if this counts as weird though it certainly is clever, my husband was on the PC & Rocky wanted him out back to play with him, hubby was'nt playing & told Rocky to go lie down as he was busy. Rocky was having none of that & after about a half hour of pestering Joe he got so fed up he shoved his nose on the on/off button & switched the PC off, then looked at Joe as if to say 'well your not busy now' Joe's face was a picture of disbelief, it was so funny.
