LOL
Nor will I! :) My BullMastiff/Pit guy was 1/4 lab tri colored, you could not see any lab in himat all but get him near water and lookout! :)

Gus on the other hand is half lab but refuses to go any closer to water than getting his legs wet! No swimming for that boy! haha!

I'd love a boxer/Am bulldog mix myself but Gus is too dominant to consider that right now, even if it was a girl. I don't want his attitudes rubbing off on a second dog, esp one built like a tank! :)

Sebastian is an impulse puppy. Neighbor had puppies needed a home I got a free puppy . Boxer wasn't necessarily my breed of choice and I've had my share of what the hell did I get myself into moments. But he's part of the family and he'll be here until God sees otherwise.

Will I get another boxer probably not. Great dogs though. Love how smart and easy to potty train he was. How much laughter he gives and he's got such a sweet disposition and I appreciate his loyalty given I'm a single woman.

I didn't choose a boxer, he chose me. I had always had Chihuahuas. But 4 years ago I happened upon this sweet 10 week old boxer puppy that needed a home. He was this spitfire little guy that happened to have neurological problems. He walked to the left a little, and his head kinda bobbed back and forth, but he didn't let that slow him down. He had this huge personality and just wanted to have fun. I had to take him home with me. Buddy is 4 years old now and my heart. Year and half after I got Buddy, I got him a boxer brother, Baxter. They are best friends. Both are silly, loving boys that make me laugh every day. I will always have a boxer.

I actually never knew anyone with boxers. We had dogs growing up, but those were a GSP, Collie and shelties. I personally loved the look of (most) boxers and had read about personalities and breed information. For some reason, I was always just drawn to boxers. I even took a few of those "which breed is right for you" quizzes, and boxers came back as a match. (Not that I have much faith in those.) I now have two boxers. I can't imagine my life without them, or with any other breed for that matter!

Love this thread.

I had always had rescued mutts. I always felt that mutts were best and I was doing a good thing. I was a vet tech for 15 years. I will never forget the day I met Lisa and her Boxer "Hooch". His energy, joy and humor hooked me. I never forgot him.

Many years later my fiance and I went to visit family in New York. They had a Boxer named "Pebbles" We both fell in love. Eventually we married and bought a house with property for our dogs to run their little hearts out. We decided to get a GSD first as that had been a childhood dream of my husbands and mine but we also wanted a Boxer. We eventually got both. They were incredible together. Our Shepherd lived to a rip old age but our first Boxer passed at 6 years old from cancer. We were not thwarted despite the warnings of friends and vets that I used to work for. We knew what road we were going down. Our Boxers are our children and we cannot imagine life with any other breed. They just bring us so much joy and happiness. Unlike any other breed. No matter what they do good or bad it makes us laugh.

I wish I knew where my photos are of when our Boxer boy ate down pillows. We came home to find our Shepherd covered in feathers looking like the culprit with this look of fear in her eyes saying I swear I told him not to do it. And there was our Boxer boy. Not a single feather on him but the biggest smile and a wiggling happy C. He was so proud of his decorations. We were ankle deep in feathers and all we could do was laugh hysterically. Our poor shepherd was so confused. I am sure many of you can relate.

That seems to be a common sentiment with most Boxer owners. At least the ones with room in their hearts for someone besides themselves. (there are a few)
And as for your pillow, I know what you mean some Boxers have no sense of guilt.

Yep our Boxer mix Stewie ripped into a Costco sized bundle of paper towels and toilet paper we had put on the kitchen floor, crap was everywhere!

He and Gunther come to the door and sit I look at Stewie, he's sitting there wiggling his butt and smiling...I look closer and he's draped in a pink plastic coat hanger! WTH?? I just laughed, all was forgiven!

I rescued a mutt from the shelter when I was sixteen. His name was Donny. Sadly, he was hit by a car and it broke my heart. I wanted a dog for a long time after that, but didn't get one because of I was afraid the same thing would happen. Then, I enlisted and spent a lot of time on deployment and whatnot so there was no way I could take on the responsibility.

Last year I decided to rescue a pit from the shelter at Christmas, since the shelters are so full of them. My friend sent me a pic of this little white boxer puppy while I was on the way to the shelter. I turned around on the highway and picked Josie up that day.

Didn't choose a boxer, but I think most things happen for a reason. I want another one now so she can have a little buddy. I'm waiting until I buy a bigger house though. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

Not a terribly exciting story, but I was in college and had just moved into an apartment that allowed pets specifically because I meant to get a dog. I was doing research on over a dozen different breeds. The one I wanted most, a German Shepherd, was banned in my building along with the standard other "aggressive breeds," although I found a workaround to that problem in my current apartment by just telling the front desk I got a Belgian Malinois, so now I have a German Shepherd too.

Anyway, I'd never really considered a Boxer before and, in fact, never really knew anyone that had them when I was growing up. One of my friends told me, "You should get a Boxer," so I looked up the breed, liked what I read, and happened to find a breeder who had a litter that would be available right as I was finishing a summer internship, which was coincidentally exactly when I wanted to get my dog. The timing was perfect and that's how I ended up with Loki.

As an aside, I looked into adopting a mix (or purebred, I guess, but obviously mixes are more common) from a rescue place as well, but I wanted a puppy and, for whatever reason, none of the rescues where I used to live would adopt out a puppy to someone without a fenced in yard. I thought that was a stupid policy and I didn't want an adult dog, so I decided to buy from a breeder instead.
